Winter project
I have been in and out of the forums for the last two months reading everything about suspensions and wheels . I have also read a lot for a brakes rotors and calipers . This year was the first year I actually got to drive my rx 7 !! I want to upgrade the brakes/ rotors/ suspension/ wheels . I don’t want to be a cheap *** and go Ebay or autozone . I want my parts to be good parts that will last and are well made . . I want handling and to stop on a dime . I also want stance but not a whole lot .. I’m torn between parts witch ones the best and so on or are they all good and it’s just a preference to the person ?

what kind of car do you have?
as far as brakes go, most of the pads and rotors come out of the same factory, so it almost doesn't matter what brand you buy.

I think it would be beneficial to know what exactly you mean by "I also want stance but not a whole lot". Do you mean you just want the car to be fairly low with nice wheels that fill the fender wells and a some camber? Or are you talking about wheels that are too wide sticking out of the fenders and stretched tires and weird over the top alignment settings? Because that can potentially fight against your desire for handling and stopping on a dime.

i just want nice wheels that don’t stick out . I also want it lowered . I don’t want my tires in the back to be slanted I also don’t want to stretch tires .

I own a 1987 Mazda rx 7 I’m the second owner of the vehicle 80k when I bought it . Never driven in the rain or saw a winter garage kept and well taken care of up until the last two years . My friends was gonna scrap the car because he has become ill . I offered to purchase the car instead of seeing it go to a junk yard . I have spent the last two summer getting it back to being alive considering my friend hasn’t started it in two years . I believe the only thing that saved this car is was being in a garage and being kept at room temperature. It’s all stock on it right now . I have invested 2k in the car to bring it back to life . This summer coming up I would like to add some mods to make it faster and look better . I would like to put a / turbo/ exhaust / wheels /suspensions / cooling system /. However I still want it to be road legal and able to be inspected I live in pa !! Any advice will help . I’m thanks a lot

Why wouldn't you want to upgrade to 5-lug and get the T2/GXL brakes at the same time? Also, if you are wanting to go turbo it is generally cheaper and easier to find a complete T2 engine and trans to swap in your car instead of trying to do all the work required to fit one to an N/A engine. However, if you really want to do it there is a guide from Aaron Cake explaining the whole process.

Honestly, I really enjoyed my GXL with a set of basic coilovers (Stance, BC Racing, or Tein fit the bill), new bushings throughout, Mazdaspeed diff and subframe mounts, Racing Beat full exhaust, and some stickier ~200 treadwear tires on the convertible BBS wheels. You could get a Koyorad if you want but honestly the stock radiator does fine if you stay N/A. This is just a fun, no hassle, very reliable setup that will not let you down. If you do all that work and are still not satisfied, you could always consider either going off the deep end with N/A engine porting and maybe ITBs or start looking for a turbo drivetrain swap.
As far as wheels, I really like a lot of the options available from Enkei. They are not knock offs but are still very affordable. My cars are both 5-lug but I think 17x8 or 17x8.5 with an offset around 25-35 (can use spacers to get to this offset) with 235 tires all the way around looks pretty darn good. I have run 17x9 with 25 offset and 245 tires but I have very stiff suspension and rolled the front fenders quite a bit to get them to fit. In general it is recommended to go 235 in front but in the rear you can fit up to 255 with ease. I just like a square setup so I can rotate tires.
