Widest Rear Tires on FC w/ Shine +30mm Rear Overfenders
 

Hi everyone,

I’ve done some searching and haven’t been able to get an answer on what the widest rear tire you can run on the rear of an FC with +30mm overfenders, Shine or otherwise.

It seems most people running these fenders are more apt to have wide wheels and stretched tires rather than the widest tire that'll fit.

I have the option to run a 17x10.5 +27mm or a 17x10 +38mm wheel with whatever spacers I need to clear control arms and would like to jam the biggest tire under the car I can fit. I currently have the 17x10.5s with a 275/40/17 on stock fenders with a roll but would like to fit a 315/35/17 as that’s really the only next size up with lots of sticky options. There aren’t many 295 or 305mm 17” options.

I run 18x10.5+15 RPF1 in the rear with my Shine over fenders wrapped with 285/30-18 Advan AD08-R. Could probably fit a 295 which is what I'm going to try when these wear out. 305 would be unlikely but maybe. Have you tried anything since this post?

I haven't. I have 18x10 +10s and was planning on buying Federal RS-R 285/30-18s. The wheels fit under the fenders okay. I'll update the thread when everything is fitted.

315/35/17s will be a tight fit. They will probably hit something unless you raise the car. 285/30/18 is a better choice. Otherwise run a sticky 275/40/17 on a 10.5 +27 offset with a thin spacer. They are taller unfortunately though.

This gives you a good visual of what my setup fits like, If i were to sand away at the inner lip I think I could fit 295s without negatively affecting the cosmetics.

Thanks, Keith. That fits really well. I ordered some 285/30r18 Federal RS-Rs today. I think they'll fit well. I'm running the same wheels on the front (Foregestar CF5 18X10 +10mm) but mostly likely with a 255/35r18 since there's there's no tires in their line up in between.

Btw, what wing and side skirts are those?

Those are probably the best bang for the buck ultra high performance tires out there. Take a picture of how they fit when you get them on. The side skirts I made myself, same as the gurney flap, it's just mounted to a stock S5 spoiler. I don't have the shine diffuser on in the picture as I plan to get the car painted soon and it's a pain to take off and on. It's a nice piece though.. transforms the car.

Here are a couple of 275/35/17s on stock pulled rear fenders. These tires run BIG, and are as far inward as I can take them without rubbing. They just barely fit.
