Who's had ABS problems???
All the sudden my ABS light came on. I never felt or heard anything, the light just appeared on and hasnt gone off. Both my front tires are locking up under hard breaking.
I've checked the fuse in the engine bay and it was fine but I replaced it anyway....no help. my fluid is where it needs to be. Is there anything else I can try or look at? STEPHEN |
ABS sensors on each of the Hubs, the ABS comptuer?
really what u need is the dealership to scan for the code that is giving the error. WIthout it you don't really know what u are looking for |
I have never had the light trip but my abs sensors collect quite a few metal shavings from the brakes. Might be worth a look to just wipe it clean on all four wheels, mine literally look fuzzy when they are dirty. A shot of brake cleaner will also do it if you don't mind laying down and getting behind the wheels.

Well, that would be REALLY nice if they are just dirty!!!! Somehow I'm never that lucky though. I'm fixing to do my rotors and brakes so I'll check they out and clean they real good.
Thanks guys, STEPHEN |

Well, I've heard that if anything trip the ABS light it shuts down and your front will lock up sooooo, I'm assuming if thats true then thats whats happening to me.
If you can find that info on pulling ABS codes I'd greatly appreciate it STEPHEN |
err.... don't hit the brake sensors with brake cleaner... unless u get the ABS safe brake cleaner.
Normal brake cleaner will damage the sensors. |
My ABS light came on once so I ripped it out :p:

Hmmm, well that looks nice too and if this fix is expensive I might just do something similar. The only prob is it seems real easy to lock the wheels up with my abs not working.
Does removing the abs completely hurt the braking? STEPHEN |

My mechanic had a r1 come in with abs trouble, it was a connector from the wheel sensor to the harness. He replaced it with a GM weather pac connector .
