Yes I did it. been doing this research for long time. find one of Amemiya Demo car had similar set up. so I give it a try and it work too.

I think I might be the first one runing 18x9.5 on front in USA (beside CCW)

My suspension basic set up

Apexi N1 coilover.

RB Front sway bar and brace.with Mazdatrix adj end link

M2 toe link

ADvan super racing. 18x9.5 F/R. 245/40/18 front and 255/40/18 rear

Oh I have Porsche big red calipers with 13 inch rotors too

Uh, it's common knowledge that fitting a 9.5"+ wheel up front is possible, with coilovers and aftermarket toe links. Is this a revelation to you???

Fritz Flynn, Max Cooper, and "crispyrx7" have already been doing this and w/ a 10" front no less:

But as I said in the tread. they are running CCW offset. meaning 50 offset, just like factory one. mine set up had less offset compare to their. so in my cause my wheel is very close to fender, but no rub

Oh? And how much of a difference in offset is there? A few millimeters? Not to discount your experience, but it ain't no big thang! And BTW, try hitting a pothole on the street at speed and we'll see if you still don't rub anything.

I know it not a big thing, but not too many people try this set out here in usa.

big pothole, no problem . already cal the shock travel space and with right - camber set up. the car will fly but never rub my fender.....(N1 is very short shocks compare to stock one, and the spring rate is very very stiff)

Haha, I'm afraid to know what the spring rates on those coilovers might be. Not only will the car fly, but if you're wearing a wig, dentures, or shades, those will go flying too! Who cares, right? As long as you don't rub your fenders!

i'm still wondering why people buy wide wheels, just to put narrow tires on them. you can easily shove a 245 on a 8.5-9 inch wheel and have less worry about rubbing. i have 255's on 9" wheels on mine with no issues

Rim width will determine tire footprint, thus a 245 on a 9.5 wide will have a slightly wider footprint than a 245 on an 8.5 wide. One could argue that you're wasting 9.5-widths on a 245. Ideally rimwidth to tire section is ~90%, thus a 9 wide wheel will mate nicely with a 10 wide section width tire for the best balance between rimwidth and tire section width. I see that you're running the ideal ratio

9.5 wide with 42 mm offset will work up front with 275/40-17, such as SSR Competition with either Kumho V700 or Hoosier R3S03.

I've been running Volk TE37 9.5 wide with +38 offset for a while. Don't know what the big deal is. It's not like you've just run a 9 second pass or just set a lap record or something.

Why would you run such narrow tires and in incorrect profiles? A 265/35 fits that rim size perfectly. And some have run 18x9.5 SSR Competitions all around for quite a while....

Have you taken it to the track? Hit steep driveways yet?

My bad. I did not know some one already use this set up already.

My offset on this wheel are 38 F/R

Using the 265 will be too wide I think 245 are just right, mabe a bit narrow, but if you are woried about grip. I think instead of putting wide tire you should choose sticky tires , and for 265 unless you want to run even more - camber or rise the ride hight . on my next set of tires. I migh run 245/35/18.

SO every one running 18x9.5. will you guys rub the inner fender area?

BTW this is pic of my Apexi N1 coilover and Porsche twin turbo calipers(AKA BIg RED). Even thought the spring rate on the Apexi N1 is scary high, F/R like 900LB + but the ride quality is very good. very solid but not harsh. much like a Porsche GT3 feeling,I am not joking here. I had seat back to back with my friend GT3 and my FD is feel very much the same

Offset is way too low for the front. 265 is not too wide, it is perfect for a 9.5 wide wheel. Why would you say get sticky tires instead of wide? Why wouldn't you run wide AND sticky tires?

Again, how much driving around have you done on them? Even with those way-too-stiff coilovers, I imagine you're catching the fender lip on hard turns or entering steep driveways.

I dont think you get the point. why put wider tires if you dont loose your traction. you have to know, too wide of tires will slow you down too. and First I dont care what tires I run on the street. they dont really mather!! how fast can you really drive on street or free way so along as they have traction to hold your power and got traction during rain. also no mater how GRIP they are (P ZERO, S03. pilot sport), it wont be better than DOT tires( KUMHO V700,Toyo RA1, Hoosier RS03). and the only reason to run street tires on track either you are too lazy to change the tires or it is rain hard

how much driving around. let me think , I am license SCCA CLUB RACING, Racer. I race with my PP FC ( see the pic under), in spare time I also compete in Solo2( co driving miata). and pratice in track day. oh the coil over is not too stiff at all. it ride fine on the street, when drive around on track(with hoosier ofcourse) it feel great too. you might want to soft the rear a bit. or add a big *** wing to hold it down. I agree It is over Kill on street, and migh not be partical to use on street...

as I metion in pre post. I alreay cal the turn angle and shock travel, combine with
my Ride hight and - camber with this offsest. my wheels will never rub my fender.
