Wheels.. now tires...
OK... had the wheels for awhile finally been around enough ready to get some tires on the wheels. (i went with the 18x8.5 +40 for the fronts, and 18x9.5 +42 for the rears. Volk CE28N... in Mercury Silver.)

Very good bang-for-the-buck tires but the T1-S is being replaced with the T1-R model right now.
Your tire sizes are perfect for those wheel sizes, although some like to run 245/35 up front. I would not do that unless I was running coilovers and could adjust ride height (265/35 is 0.5" taller than 245/35). BTW, the wheels look great! |

If you're willing to live with shorter treadlife and the need for greater heat for grip, you may want to try the Dunlop SP Super Sport Race DOT-R tires. They're $120 each for the front, $129 each for the rear in that size. The grip is amazing compared to normal max performance dry tires, but depending on how hard you drive, it will probably not last more than 1/2 what a gummy street tire will last.

After reading around on the net, I went with the BFG KDW-2s... awesome tread design as well.

Went with what I posted originally... Best options i think for both front and rear. Least amount of chance for rubbing, without losing too much of anything else... just the right sizes.
265/35/18 Rear 235/40/18 Front |

I bought a set of T1-R tires recently. 245/45/16's on stock FD rims. The rubber feels good. Pretty good grip, but a slightly softer sidewall than I expected. I would have preferred that the sidewalls were a little stiffer. Overall, I am satisfied with them, but not overjoyed.

The tires arrived yesterday... Thank you www.onlinetires.com Great prices and they got here in 1 day. Took them over to Pann Auto Perfomance here in San Diego. They are awesome. Very careful with the wheels and got all 4 mounted and balanced in about 35 mins. Great Shop... if you are in the SD area and haven't been by there... you should stop in and take a look. (Also picked up a battery for the TurboJeff Battery tray while I was there) Will have pics of the Wheels with the tires on them later today. Will get them on the car late today or tomorrow... |

Looks great, now get them on the car and start enjoying them. :) Remember to put some miles on them to wear off the tire mold release agent before you start testing the traction limits. New tires are a bit slippery until you have some miles on them.

Ok.... everyting is on. Took it for a nice drive. These tires are amazing. Blow my old Dunlop 9000S out of the water. Thanks for suggesting these. I LOVE THEM. Was to busy driving to remember to take pics... but here are a couple for ya in my new gallery.
