Re: Wheel and Tire Sizing

I'm running 245/40 and 265/40 Potenza S03s on Fikse FM5 17x8.5 and 17x10s. I have Tanabe coilovers, and have absolutely no rubbing problems at all :).

hope this helps--

1st and 2nd as soon as I hit full boost it's goodbye traction. 3rd I get a little wheelspin, but they hold on pretty well. Right now the car has the stock rims mounted w/245 width Yoko AVS Intermediates. My dad told me that he has to keep both hands on the steering wheel when he floors it :D

ptrhahn is right, You can't mess with the lip; though I wish you could......

wanklin 07-28-03 01:08 PM

not yet, Ity's on hold for personal reasons. I will post when I get this project back on line.

You need a 3 piece wheel to do this?

Holy Thread Revival.....

ronbros3 12-21-10 05:59 PM

very old idea ,1957-1958, chevy steel wheels ,setem up in a Lathe, cut im in half or there abouts, weld in a rolled piece of steel and add it inside or outside , spin wheel slowly to get it close as possible, dial indicator.

worked back then , you guys just aint old enough, to remember when, there wernt any race parts, you made everything.

now my RX7 has three piece wheels ,can be adjusted to any width, inside or out.

pix ,look at ftronts compared to rears, width, custom fitted at factory in Daytona,CCW WHEELS, givem a call they are the best!!

My UPS guy showed me the rim he had widened for his motorcycle by Kosmin Specialties.

The work was amazing. I believe when they both cut off and machine the insert they do it angled from both sides so it is co-centric and the welds are just beautiful.

They widen frontside, backside, increase diameter- whatever you want, but I am sure it costs.

I was thinking about getting some 10x7 Watanabes and having them widened out/offset changed to 10x10 for my Honda.

Weldcraft does a lot of custom wheels and are well know in the Mustang community.
