Wheel question
researching wheels and i really want to run 18x10 fron and back with 255/35/r18 tires....... will they fit??? and what will i have to do. I have a LS1 swap so im looking for more rubber.

Wrong section.
What offset are the rims? BTW, 255 size tire is not too wide of a tire for the rears of FD's, you may want to look at something wider, depending on your power goals and what you plan to use the car for. |
i figured the back would be fine.worried bout the front.... what section should this go in??? im in 3rd gen specific. and the wheels im looking at right now are rota grids 5x114.3/e15/73

ahhh i think i found the section.... didnt know they had a section for this. and forgot to say i do alot of auto X

Please do not put rota grids on your FD.
Thank you. There is a wheel and tire section. 255 will not fit the front of the FD with a +15 offset. This thread should help. https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/fd-wheel-tire-sizing-416251/ |

You can fit those 255s in the front if you roll your fenders.
Although running that wide tire in the rear will be a problem. with the torque of the ls1, you'll spin those tires like crazy. I'm running 265s in the rear and my car is heavier than an fd and I can spin them like nothing. But its an ls2. |
255 on an 18x10 +15 rim will not fit even with rolled fenders. Perhaps if the OP puts a lift kit on his car so the tires don't collide with the fenders when the suspension compresses; then they will fit.
1quik7, what tires do you have on your GTO, different tires have different grip characteristics. |
Need a full flat roll and a pull. Depends on alignment too, and might need to cut/modify or get rid of your fender liners. 255 and depends on profile, and each tire manufacturer is different too. Some run wide, some run skinny, there in no set standard. Running front & rear same size is nice and gets same Tire OD Front & rear.

1quik7, what tires do you have on your GTO, different tires have different grip characteristics. I'm running hankook ventus evo's. Very quiet tires and good in rain which is what i was really aiming for since its a daily driver. Traction I can handle if i pedal it. Plus I have traction control which helps a bit lol. |
My car is lowered a little with rolled fenders and I run Enkei RPF1's, Front 18"/9.5”/45 Rear 18"/10”/38. Tire size would be 255/35/18 and 285/30/18. I could have even run with 285's all the way around, with a different front rim. A guy on the forum's helped me out. No rubbing at all.
