what offset for 15x9 15x11 for fc?
 

i found a set of 15x9 15x11 bbs wheels (MESH TYPE) and wanted to know what offset i would need get them under stock fenders.

i will be running 15x9 225/50 front, 15x11 245/40 in the rear with kyb sturts and eibach springs. i have test fitted and found out that i would need about an inch spacers for the rear and 10mm for the fronts.

just wanted to know what offset you guys had from experience so that i can compare and get a custom space made for exact fitment. again i want to fit these under stock fender so every mm counts. i want it close to the strut as possible so that i have the most clearance on the outside. hopefully i will only have to roll and pull a little.

and why 15's?

+15 to +20 would clear the trailing arm and muffler heat shields
maybe +25 would work with certain choices of tire and suspension.

a +15 to +10 up front for sure
and maybe a +20 would fit depending on tire/suspension choice.

just for reference here is a pic of 15x10 +zero all around (I think +zero)
that may have been before or after a 1/5" spacer to clear the front brakes, I cant remember
with teeny tiny little skinny mini 225 hosier autox tires stretched over them.
and the car has 20mm wide fenders all around.


with a nice fatty wide real deal slick that would be a god setup on 15x9f/15x11r.

Thanks Owens, but your setup looks crazy rub!!! I am trying to keep them flush as possible with maybe about an inch sticking out. The reason i went with these are mostly because of looks. You would too for the if you seen them, plus i got a good deal, and they are 3 piece!!!

hahaha yeah NyToy's red FC (recently sold woooho!) and he only had the wheels spaced so far out to clear the caliper because the wheels center section wasnt like many street wheels with a face that clears... thats why they stuck out so much.

with a proper offset and caliper clearance he could have fit them under his fenders with 265 front and 285 rear if they came that width. just like what Josh18_2k runs in 17" wheels with similar widths to what you are looking into (see his sig pic!)

the offsets I listed first would be ideal.

the offsets for NyToys car were just to show what he had and are not what is needed to fit unless you get those same wheels, Real Racign Wheels superlightweight autox wheels, not a good fit either, the gearing change from the tires small O.D. was so severe that he couldnt use full throttle at all, kinda lame.

that is what i was wondering about, i have ran 9 inch in the front and rears before but they were 18s with a 24 offset. i had about 5mms of clearance in the front and needed the lips to be rolled to fit 225-235. rears clear with about and inch and a half to spare.

now with the 15s, i am assuming since it is 6 inches smaller in diameters, it would sit under the perch (where the springs rest) allowing me about 10mms of extra clearance. of course i would not try to tuck any tire under the sturt (that would be stupid), just only enough so that the lip of the wheel is closer to the strut gaining the extra 10mms the 18s couldnt. like i said, i tried test fitting but was unable to get any measurements done due to the large tire on it (345/35) hitting everything inside. i am still in the process of find a tires place that can take the tire off (ALL SO FAR SAY THE CANT) so that i dont have to resort to sawing the tire.

BTW this is just a theory and i agree it doesnt sound smart at all, BUT IT MIGHT WORK...

yeah I think you are on the right train of thought, I remember a lot of the guys with tripoint widebody setups using smaller O.D. tires (15" wide panasport modulars, etc) to remain lower than the spring perches for fitting the wise wheels inboard as far as possible. with the 15's you keep so much of the rotating mass at a small diameter that it frees up a lot of HP and braking power... thats such a good thing. good luck man, cant wait to see some pics!
