What coilovers are you useing?
 

I am planning on doing some autocrossing as well as some closed circuit racing next summer and am tryign to decide on a coilover setup. Right now I am looking at either the M2 Coilover Conversion Kit or the Ground Control coilover kit. With a 400 or 375 front rate and a 325 or 300 rear spring rate.(I'm leaning a little bit towards the GC because it appears that there is a larger threaded portion thus allowing more height adjustability.) And either the Koni or Bilstein shocks.

What are your opinions on these set-up options?

I'm currently running GAB Super w/ Eibach springs but will soon switch to

Koni/Eibach Ground controls (425/375).. since the money is already spent..I'm sticking with it.....but if it was not then I might considering looking at GAB Super R's w/m2's kit.

I'm currently using GC, check my sig. I have stock struts, which sucks. My car is pretty bouncy cause my struts don't dampen the stiffer springs very well. But still, my car has VERY little body roll, and my times at the Auto-x dropped significantly, and I'm now running near the top of CSP.

Are these the non adjustable Bilstsein's?

I'm currently running M2's Gab Super R with coil over conversion. Eibach 550 front 450 rear.

With the spring rates as high as I have them they are probably a little much if the track is bumpy, but if it's smooth they are perfect.

If I was going to buy again, I would go with a Penske or Ohlin's, for a race car.

For a street /track car the new M2 advanced design setup look good.

For a car that only gets used for 1 or 2 track days a year, the mazdaspeed coil overs look tempting.

It depends alot on what you have to spend, and what you hope to acheive with the upgrade. I personally like my suspension stiff like a go cart, my lap times could possibly be faster with a softer setup but I prefer to loose a little time to keep the feel I want.

I have the Mazdaspeed coilovers.
I agree that they are a bit on the soft side.
Rates are 412-F & 287-R
I have shocks set at 4 (max) at all 4 corners.

They ride great on the street (much better than a stock touring) and they are well behaved on the track.

Advantage over the GC kit is that shock body is threaded as opposed to a threaded collar installed over a standard shock.

They are a good choice if you want to maintain ride comfort and still get great performance.

They are a bad choice if you want to run a low ride height (due to soft spring rates) or really need to have the ultimate track performance.

If I had more money to spend I would get something double adjustable.

I'm running the M2 w/GAB super R's, 550F/450R. I really like this setup, both on the street, and at the few autox's I've attended. My wife even likes the ride better than the stock touring setup. Ride height as setup by Brian (M2), has the rear lowered slightly more than the front. When conerbalancing this setup, we barely had to breath on the adjusments to acheive incredible corner-corner & front-rear balance (with a full tank of fuel).

I have the M2/Advance Design coilovers. I'm very happy with the ride, handling, and construction. I'm running 550/450 lb spring rates and its not at all too still for me. I might go up to 650/550 in the future. The only thing I didn't like was the bolt that holds the bottom of the rear damper. The threaded portion in too long forcing the swaybar link to rotate on it. I also need to get some washers to space it right because the link is rugbbing the swaybar. Other than that they are awesome.
