What is the best brake pad for FD??
What is the best break pad for the FD brakes?? Any suggestion??

There is no "best". Brake pads are designed for specific applications: street/autox/roadrace etc. For the street many people here have made positive comments about the Hawk HPS. I personally use the HP+ which has more bite but dusts a lot. Race brakes on the street will have less bit because you never get them hot and they will eat your rotors.

I drive an FC, but that doesn't make a difference. I currently am using Hawk HP+ pads and they are amazing. I admit, they dust like crazy, and sometimes get a bit squeeky, but they last forever, and stop my car very quickly. I can easily lock my brakes up at highway speeds if I wanted to, so how fast the car stops is how well I can threshhold brake without locking them. FD's all have anti-lock right?

I thought all FDs had anti-lock, but I am not sure. Maybe all the US ones? I know my manual has sections for normal and anti-lock brakes.
I hadn't driven any other cars for a few weeks after originally putting my HP+ on; had already done a few autoxs too. Drove my girlfriend's Accord one morning and thought "Man, this thing just won't stop!". The HP+ don't require near the pedal pressure and I had just gotten used to them. I love the HP+, but again they are very dirty. |
hawk hp+ is good

You can get the Hawk HP blues that have unbelievable stopping power. It'll make you go through a set of rotors every 200 miles, but the stopping power is amazing if you're loaded with cash. Otherwise Hawk HP+ gets my vote as well.

For street use I would go with the EBC's. They claim to be dustless and work well on the street. I got a set for BATMAN to try. he likes. Although I have talked to a few guys who track and they just won't budge from their Hawks. Why change when you got a good thing going?
EBC greenstuff. Thanks, Rishie |
