Volk GT-C what size would fit?

Iam looking into getting a GT-C in the next few months and I was curious if anyone had them and could tell me how much a 18 by 9.5 or 10in. would weigh in at? Also any pics would be awesome.

Does anyone know the difference between the 1 face and the 2 face GT-C?

Also what would be the correct offset for 18 by 9.5 all around the FD or 18 by 10 all around? Any info. would be great. Thanks

They don't make GT-Cs in 18x9.5. The only offsets you could use for all four wheels would be 18x9 or 18x10 in +50 offset. This is with the "mid" pad height and may not allow enough clearance up front if you ever upgrade to larger brake calipers/rotors. Ask Rishie regarding that.

I have 18x 9 in front and 18x 10 in back
... +50 fron/face 1 +44 front/face 2.

I'd like to tell you they don't rub...but since my car hasn't been drivable since I put them on , I don't know except they look okay just sitting there...

Anyways, that's what Rishie ordered for me. They look awesome. You won't notice the difference between Face 1 and Face 2. I have both and it definitley doesn't pop out.

They weighedI think 22 lbs or so when I put them on my UPS scale.

Thanks for the first hand, David. With those sizes and offsets, you shouldn't rub at all. You only need +50 if you are going to be rotating all four wheels.

BTW, you could post some pics if you wanted.....;)

Ya shouldn't rub. Hehe. I setup the fitment. lol.

Wow, thanks guys for the info.

Just curious though, what is the difference between the face 1 and the face 2, is it the deeper lip or is it something else?

Also a 18x9 and a 18x10, what is the widest tires you can put on each?

Rishie how much is it for all four? Iam interested in buying some soon. It could be new or used, as long as it is in good condition. Thanks everything.

Dang 22 lb. is not much at all. Oh yeah what I was going to add is, you had to choose Rishie, which rims do you think would be best suited for a FD. The RH C3 piece, SSR GT 3, or the GT-C? I would ask David, but I already know who he would choose. Iam looking for both looks and lightness of the rims. Also do you think 17x9 or 17x10 is better or 18's? Thanks guys.

ARD T2 07-15-03 01:12 PM

I too would take the GT-C. The RH is too much for your money, the GT3 is a good wheel but made for tire rack. SSR utilizes a semi solid forge. I would take the ray's forging over SSR if cost is the same as well as weight.

Discount is limited on Racing Hart, meaning i think you get more for your buck from Volk. They do have some new styles as well.

Just curious, how would a set of RH C2 and a GT-C run?

Also would 17 incher be more useful then 18's? Also would they look close the same on the FD? Thanks Rishie

Best sizes would be 255/35 on 9", 285/30 on 10".

IMO, there's not much point to running 17x9/17x10, as there are no 285/35 17s and 275/40 17s are pretty tall. Best with 17s is 17x9 with 255/40 all around -- the SleepR1 fitment....:)

In your opinion, do you think 17x9 would look any different then the 18's and also performance the 17 would be better right? Sorry for the question I am anxious to get me a set. Thanks

....

That's what I have.

As far as pics, it's at the body shop getting changed to VR like my other from MB as well as the hood, bumper, etc.

You can vaguely see the Volks in this link if you go to the MB car on the rack.

I doubt there's much of a visual difference between 17x9 and 18x9, although the big fat 18x10s with 285/30s are noticeable...:)

Straightline acceleration should be better with the 17s, but conversely, you may get more grip with the 285s vs 255s. With handling, I couldn't tell you. Instincts and other people's comments would make me think that the 18s may have more lateral grip but not feel as nimble as the 17s.

AbadR1 07-15-03 11:52 PM

Wow, that is some great info. I might end up going with the 17x9, since they will be cheaper and also tires would be cheaper. I was curious what is the difference between those face 1 and face 2?
