Two questions, Big brake kits, and dedicated coilovers
 

I own a 10th ae and I am starting over on the car. I am going to have a street car that is going to be 75% street driven and 25 % track driven (autocross and drift).

First question: Is anyone running a big brake kit on the their car, or is that overkill? Will stainless steel lines, upgraded pads and rotors on stock calipers be enough?

Second question: In your opinion, which coilover dedicated kit have you enjoyed the most? Stance, tein, or other...

I am looking for a lower more aggressive stance and much stiffer ride that will still perform well at the track. I dont mind too much of a bumpy ride on the streets.

for autox and drift, a bbk kit is overkill. get some good pads, SS lines, new rotors and bleed/flush the system with some decent brake fluid and you'll be OK.

Whether or not a BBK is overkill depends on the weight of the car, the power, the tires, the track and the driver. Race pads and high temp fluid with some proper ducting will get you some very good brakes, but if you've got a bunch more than stock power and are using race tires then you'll probably need to get a BBK eventually. "Upgraded rotors" aren't needed, and in fact if you mean drilled then they're worse than stock, as they crack, slotted don't really crack any more than stock, but they really don't offer a benefit and cost more. Stick to cheap parts store rotors, they're more than up to the task. Rocklobster is setting up a group buy for some ~12.2" rotors with Wilwood's that should fit stock wheels for about $1k. Also look at the Evo brake thread, that seems like a good option.

I like my Tein Flex for street and track driving. I did a lot of research before buying and am quite pleased with my choice, but I don't have experiance with anything else on the FC. An instructor friend did comment that it handled fairly well though.
