Tokiko Illumina question
 

Ok, so last summer I bought some Tokiko Illumina 5-way adjustable shocks with some H&R springs (1.25 inch drop). At the time I was running the stock rims and stock sized tires. Well I got a great deal on some ADR M-classic rims, and these things are about as big as I can run without some flares, they're 9.5 inches wide in back with some 275 width tires.

My problem when I bought them was that the drop provided by the H&Rs was just too much and I couldn't even drive around town without them rubbing. So I ended up putting the stock suspension back on, which looked fine, but then I started to drive it, and I noticed just how bad they were getting. Bouncing all over the place, and not exactly doing a whole lot better than the Tokiko's with the H&Rs.

So I have a couple of questions, (my motor is coming out for a rebuild otherwise this wouldn't be an issue) are there any springs that provide NO drop but increased spring rates?
Is anyone on here using Tokiko's with GC coilovers?
Any other thoughts/advice/opinions?

so far Tein H-techs are the least drop I can find at .8 front and .7 rear, but I still don't know if that'll be enough.

I have known several people who have run Tokicos with GC Coilovers. It's a tad on the rough side since the rate most people get with GC Coilovers are fairly high for Tokicos. Tein H-Tech is probably the least amount of drop of the "off the shelf" springs. You can get custom springs from Swift or Eibach, but I'm not necessarily recommending going that route.

Your best/cheapest bet is probably going to be either your Tokicos and H-Tech springs or just biting the bullet and getting something like Tein SS coilovers.

look up roadmagnet.com i believe they do alot of custom springs out of maryland. I am pretty sure if you call them and tell them what springrates and height they can wind you up something. or they may ask to send in a front and rear spring to match it perfectly. they can wind progressive or straight springs and the rates are pretty decent.

ok, thanks guys, roughness doesn't really bother me, despite being in nebraska, I've been trying to sell the Tokiko/H&Rs, but people just never pull through on them.

any word on the D2 coilovers?
