Hi everyone, I need help on tire rim set-up for my fd I want to use 18" and have a pettit sport comp suspention which lowered the car 1-1/4 in. Thanks

a 17" wheel is a much better compromise than an 18"

go with 17x9 and run 255/40 or 245/40

if you must go 18, you will have to run 245/35 or 255/35 on 18x9 wheels or 285/30 (18x10 wheels)

These sizes will keep you at the stock wheel+tire diameter.

Thanks for the responses, but why 17 and not 18's

i'm no expert but in general i've heard 17 is ideal balance. 18s are more expensive to start off and to maintain. 18s will probably give you a harsher ride also. and i think the inertia of the larger wheels hurt performance to a degree.

If you want some 18's I'd look into the Road conditions in Jersey and determine how often you want to drive the car. If it's a daily driver I'd go 17's definitely. 18's do look beautiful though.

Tell us your budget and we can properly place you into a good wheel line. Can show you what you get for that much in a 17 and that much in an 18. Wheels only please? Tires are a pretty constant variable once you know what brand you want.

around 350 each

go with 18"10 in the rear with 275/35 w/ a+50 offset.
in the front go 18"81/2 with 225/40 W/+45 offset it will look perfect and and wont rubb.

spooled 7 is that the wheel/tire combo size on your fd, are you sure it won't rub with my pettit 1-1/4 drop...which car is yours in the photo's?

The one that i should you. Im pretty sure it wont rub. I have some ground controls w/ Koni's. And i pretty much slammed it as low as it could allow me without rubbing. So you should be ok with 1-1/4 drop.

I pretty much have less than a finger gap all around.
