NY Tire options for stock 15X6 gxl fc rims

is it possible to fit a lower profile tire on the stock 15x6 rims. original tire size is 205/60/r15
can 205/50/r15 fit for example?, and will it throw the speedometer off?
thank you

It should fit, and yes, it will definitely throw the speedometer off.. if you want to know by how much, look here:

i ran 205-50-15's on mine, and it was the best thing i did to the car, its like going from the stock 4:10 rear to like 4:30's

the speedo is off, but between the GTUs and the miata's there is probably a speedo gear that would work, if you care (i didn't)

handling was the same, but acceleration is way better, and 5th gear is actually useable
