Tein S-tech springs + KYB
 

Just wanted to share my review on this set-up:

I recently changed for all new suspensions set-up, including Delrin bushings, new tein springs, new KYB struts, new boots, stops and everything that needed to be replaced!

It must have cost me over $1000 for the 4 corners...

Well it's just awful.

Springs rates are definitely too high for the stock KYB struts and i'm basically bouncing all over my seat on street use.

Now, I'm considering to do a change as I mainly drive on streets and very occasionnaly on track.

But I don't want to spend another $1000! So either I go back on stock springs but then I say good bye to the nice lowering, or I change my struts.

I've thought of Bilstein B6, but they are not stiffness adjustable, or Koni yellows, or Tokico illuminas, and I keep my S-Tech springs...

I know Bilstein make good products but would they fit my springs?? I also know they are commonly used with Eibach springs but i don't know the stifness of these compared to the Tein S-Tech...

Any inputs from the cmmunity will be welcome!

If you are getting shocks only, go for Tokico HTS Shocks not the older Illuminas. Next choice would be Koni Yellows.

What's the difference between hts and illuminas?
I've seen on other threads ur links to tokico combos schocks+springs, looks good but the seller seems not to ship internationaly.

i had eibach on stock shocks as howard coleman recommended and they were nice...

switched to tein s tech on stock shocks and i like them even more.

i had the tokico illuminas and hated them and one was blown and felt soft imo.

i also have all new super pro bushings everywhere... i recommend trying the stock shocks with the teins first..

Whow then something must be wrong either with my schocks or with my springs! Must have been fooled by fake malaysian parts!!
I can tell u u wouldn't love my set up! Unless you like ur car behaving like a rollercoster...

HTS is their new line. Newer, better technology offering much better performance. I would not recommend the Illuminas at all now that the HTS line is available. Just doesn't make any sense to go with the old technology.

And you think that together with the s-tech springs it would give a decent & somehow comfortable street drive?

Yes. They are adjustable so you'll be able to have full soft, full hard or somewhere between as to your liking.
