Taking the guess work out of Wheel Fitment
 

I just recently rejoined this forum because I finally decided to restore my 87 FC. It seems as though many of us continue to struggle with wheel fitment. Hopefully this will give you a better gauge of what you can do and can't with factory suspension as well as coil overs. Keep in mind, the only boundary that we have is clearance.

This first link shows you which way your wheels and tires will move in real time. Whether it be a negative or positive offset, you can see what your options are for whatever clearances you have. This calculator will also tell you how your speed will be effected.

Start with 205 60r 15 with an offset of 40 And thats a generalized stock setting for FCs.

There are many different calculators out there, but these seem to cover the gamut. From simple for the beginner to detailed for those whose suspension has been changed from stock. I hope these help with the fitment of any purchases you plan to make for tires as well as rims.

Don't forget to measure twice.

One more thing. Many times the hub size is over looked. I know because i did it. Make sure you check your hub size to ensure your hub will fit inside the new wheel hub. My hub is 67.1 and the wheels i ordered were 66.2. So i had to send the wheels to a machine shop and have them honed .9 to accept eh wheel. Don't make that mistake.
