Stiffest FD OEM Replacement Spings? Spring Rates? Non-Lowering/Minimal Lowering
 

Does anyone know where I can buy OE replacement springs with high spring rates that don't lower the car too much.

Right now the RB springs are too low and the rates are still too soft and too low. I don't think hypercoil makes compatible spring for OEM perchs. Anyone know who else makes a good spring? If you know the relative drop and spring rates of the spring F/R please specify.

Check out Tein H-Tech. They are stiffer than stock, but don't lower the car much.

I will surely look into them. If they are significantly stiffer then stock I will likely give them a try. However, when it comes to spring rates, Tein has horrible manufacturing tolerances. When my friend got his teins dynoed the spring rates were all over the board.

For reference H-Techs (F/R):
Ride Height Change (-in): .8 /.7
Rates (lbs/in): 390/290

how do you "dyno" springs?

you might want to look for some R1/R2 springs and dampers, they had the stiffest OEM suspension

It's not really a dyno, but you can get spring rate testers. Top race teams use them to be sure that all their springs are as closely matched as possible.

Does anyone make custom rates on OE replacement springs?

Ride Height Change (-in): 1/1
Rates (lbs/in): 365/275

OEM
Ride Height Change (-in): 0/0
Rates (lbs/in): 280/200

Racing Beat
Ride Height Change (-in): .75/1.5
Rates (lbs/in): 260/212

^^^ Is this right? RB is softer in the front?! I pulled the 260 off their website and I pulled 280 of rx7club postings.

IMO, for what you are after, you would be better off getting the Tein Basic coilovers:

Inexpensive and you can get the ride height exactly how you want it.

I am running Koni 8211 race shocks with oe perch positions and want to keep these.

Go for Ground Control coilover sleeves. You can get custom Eibach spring rates with them.

I don't want to have to hack the perches of anything to fit the sleeves since these are borrowed shocks. Would it be necessary or will the sleeve slip sit right on the OE perch?

Also, the RS*R race spring mentioned on the other page sound nice. 447F, 391R; 0.4"F, 0.4"R. I am looking into availability and pricing.

The sleeves will work with OEM perches.

RS*R Race Springs (447/391) are proving to be impossible to order. No one has these in stock and RS*R is not getting anymore for 2 months.

Does anyone else provide a spring that lowers minimally with high spring rates like the RS*R Race Spring. Thanks!
