Stance GR+ for FC3S - New Replacement Damper is shorter and different????

Hey guys,

I just received a replacement damper for one of the rear coilovers for my FC. Upon inspection I had noticed than the shock body on the new unit is a bit different than the old ones. It seems to be shorter and it has a silver Philips head on the bottom compared the gold valve that the old ones have.

I was hoping someone could shed some light ont he difference or even better provide me with measurements of your own shock body, from the top of the silver plate to the end of the threads. The old ones I have are both 10 1/4" roughly while the new replacement one measures something like 9.5".

Here's the new one next to the old one with the mount still attached, you can see the difference in length-

And the different bottoms-

Basically I'm wondering if they sent the wrong damper for a replacement or if the set I bought was actually for a different car or something.

Thanks a ton for any help with this matter.

Yeah I sent them an email with the pics yesterday but I wanted to hear from others on the forum who also have these coils, like I said to get another measurement for comparison sake.

Thanks though.

Here's what Stance said :

>The gold cap is a schrader valve which came on the older shocks. Our new
>shocks now comes sealed, thus the screw on the bottom. The rear shock
>lengths have since been revised also to allow more range in height
>adjustment. It will not affect performance at all.

So I guess we're all good here.

I'd bet that the new shock has less total travel than the old one, which could be an issue if you're planning on running it at a reasonable ride height (ie not in the weeds).

Bump.

Took a while to find this info, as I couldn't figure out why mine wouldn't go as low as I wanted. Guess it's due for some new shocks anyways. Hopefully, they still stock GR+ replacements or the new line is compatible.
