showa bathurst sp coilovers for fd ... spring rate and specs?
 

hi guys
i want to install these coilovers
does any1 have them installed on their fd?
i want to know about their spring rates and how much they drop the car?
any information on these coilovers wiil be great...and if any1 is selling them in good condition pls let me knoe

I think they may be the same as the "bathurst" setup.

OP - I have them and love them for the street. Take a look at my profile and you will see pictures of my car. These pictures are taken with Eibachs and Tokicos, but I can tell you with the showas fully lowered they ride almost identical to the eibach/tokico setup. Not too low, and no 4x4 look.

My front fender with 18" rims is just over 25" from ground to fender so the drop is close to 1" all around. The spring is similar to the R1 in rate.

I looked EVERYWHERE, and couldn't find exact spring rates on these things. I even talked to a few guys in AUS and they couldn't give me an exact answer.

PM me on your timing and this time I will get you pics, I know we had talked back in Dec and I am still looking to upgrade to a track ready setup (hypermaxx III or somethign similar). These only have ~ 10K miles on them and are in EXCELLENT condition.

hows the ride comfortability and handling..?
i do most of the street driving.... and almost never see a track

Same here, I looked all over the spring rates and couldn't find them - as dfoster said, reportedly they're similar to the R1, which should be about right for the street

much more comfortable than my previous eibach/tokico setup. for street driving you will not be disappointed

I had the bathurst coilovers and they are great. Ride is good and it lowers the car:icon_tup:. For a car that sees the street alot I do not think these coilovers can be beat.

so they drop the car about an inch rite? how much they would cost me if I want to buy new ... and how much they would cost if I wana buy them used...... what kinda of kms or miles I should be looking at a used set of these coilovers

would u guys that the spring rate is 8/6 or 6/8 or softer than that

PM'd you on cost for my used showa.

On the spring rate I believe stock was 5/3 or 6/4. These should be similar, but alas I cannot find the specs.

Spoke to soon... found this on FDS3.net This is the Stock R1 Suspension

Spring rate lbs/in (F/R) - 269.5 / 192.5
Spring rate kp/mm (F/R) - 5.01 / 3.58

Here as some OK pics (stuck in my garage with 2FT of snow outside the door :D) of how the Showas fully lowered (-20mm from stock) look on an FD with 18" rims. apologize for my sleeve getting in the way on the one shot. If you want to keep a stockish ride with comfort yet still get a more agressive drop with aftermarket wheels, these are the way to go.

Looks almost identical to my former Eibach/Bilstein set-up, which works ok for the street, but was too soft. I have the Showas now, just waiting to get my bushings installed

those pictures are of the car with the Showas installed.
