semi-slicks worth it?
I've been running Toyo T1S lately and was wondering howmuch tyres like Advan 032R (hard) compare to the T1S. Is the grip increase enormous? Can you maybe give me some skidpad comparison?
R-compound tires are a lot pricier and they don't last very long. So I was wondering if the grip is really worth it or not. |

DOT-R compounds are awesome. I'm on the Pirelli P-Zero Corsa's on my car and the level of grip is amazing compared with street compounds. You definitely need to get them warm before going crazy though. When cold, they don't grip well at all.
You may want to skip the A032R's and go directly to the A048R's instead. Or if you want to go with another brand, there's the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, Pirelli P-Zero Corsa, and a bunch of others. |
I have the yoko a032r's on my car, they definetly aren't for the faint-hearted but are a hell of alot of fun, it feels like you're literally glued to the road and driving on big gumballs. They're about as loud as my jeep with 33" swampers on it, but it doesn't bother me at all. Its not like the car is quiet otherwise. They pick up alot of junk on the road too and toss it around the wheel wells. I have no idea how long they'll last though and I'd bet they're horrible in the wet.
