Request: Picture of +42 off set wheels of your FD

Yes I have searched but no luck:(
I am considering new wheel set up for my fd and was interested in seeing some pictures of 42+ off set for the front on the FD.
If you are running +42 offset in 17 inch up font please show me some pictures and comment on the wheel clearance and drive handling feel.

BTW if the MODS decide to move this to the other more appropriate section please don't:( IMO 3rd section generation section would produce more results for this request:)

thanks

Never ask for a post not to be moved. That just shows that you know it's not in the right section. ;)

Check my sig for pictures of my car with 17x9 +43 all around. Here's a closer shot of the front:

LOL thanks Mahjik. @ 9 inch front hows the steering response and feefback? Not too much meat???

Mahjik 03-22-10 06:54 PM

Those are 255's all around. That's plenty meat for me. I couldn't really put much more tire to use. Most people who have larger tire sizes can't either, they just like the look of large wheels/tires. ;)

The only real drawback is the added tramlining on public roads from the increased tire footprint.

Front: 17x9" +42 with 255/40 rolled fenders.
I don't recall the ride height when this pic was taken, but I'd guess around 25.5". The tires never touched the fender with +45 wheels and the same tires / ride height. But, they grabbed the fender lip the same day I put on the +42 wheels.

Rear: 17x10" +42 with 275/40's

having wider vs. smaller (up front) offers it's benefits but also has its drawbacks. I am currently wanting to downsize to 17X8.5 42+ in the front and reduce the wide from 235 to 225. the numbers are not a big difference between the two but and reduction of tread width is noticeable on the track.

Keep in mind offset will vary with width because it's measured from the centerline of the wheel. IE 17x8.5 +42 and 17x9 +42 have different clearances front and back.
