Replacement suggestion for my Tein"HA" on the 89 Turbo II .

I got the car last fall ( Oct 2009 ) with some Tein "HA" , I removed them from the car to have them overhauled ( seal & oil changed ) , now they are back on the car and are working perfectly but I don't like the way we adjust the ride height.

I don't do any track or any kind of racing , I just drive her around on sunny days.
I want something I can adjust the camber , has pillow balls ( spelling ) and I can adjust the ride height without touching the strut travel or spring tension.

I've look a little bit but there is like 5 brand name and many models available.
I'd like to stay around $1000.00 price range if possible .

Can you suggest me models and brand names to make my life easier a bit.
I'm kind of lost with all the possibilities.

Thanks.

I'll be working on this tonight .

I found out I had my right rear wheel bearing had some play in it so I bought 2 new bearings , new rotors and obviously new pads.

I'll be busy the next few days.

I have listed my FC S5 Tein HA up for sale.

They have been freshly rebuilted with OEM Tein parts so if someone is looking for a decent set of coilovers , do a little search and you'll find them.

ARD T2 05-25-10 06:03 PM

lol I think I sold those to the dealer you bought them from.

Congrats and make sure to reset your spring preloads before install. Check and make sure all the top jam nuts are on tight too.

Thanks,
Rishie

mpcv2000 05-25-10 06:30 PM

Thanks for the tip.

I'm starting at 200mm spring height.
There is no instructions so I surfed a bit and looks like 200mm is very frequent.

mpcv2000 05-25-10 06:31 PM

I hope they won't be as stiff as my Tein HA.

mpcv2000 05-26-10 09:14 AM

Almost done.

Toning I'll adjust the height I want my car sitting at and I'll take it for a spin.

Hmm, i think they will be stiffer than a Tein HA. HA is a low pressure damper, twin tube. This is a high pressure monotube. Larger piston etc....

Also make sure you don't set your damping to the softest or stiffest setting. Start somewhere in the middle.

When adjusting stiffness you always need to go FULL STIFF, clockwise.

Then count backwards to your "softer" setting.

I was under the impression they were for street use .

We'll see tonight with the test drive. :)

Josh18_2k 05-26-10 04:40 PM

yah "street use" = super low and/or drifting

damn everything in your car is so shiny

Thanks , I'm very proud of my car.
Bought it from a member here last fall ( Oct 2009 ) .:icon_tup:

mpcv2000 05-26-10 10:14 PM

1st test .
I liked it.
I'm fine tuning it ( rear is a bit high ) . setting at 8 from hard.
I'll lower the rear tomorrow morning and take a few shots , I'm trying it a bit lower then with the Tein HA.
I really like the adjustability for the ride height.

It looks great.

mpcv2000 05-28-10 05:27 AM

Almost done fine tuning and setting up my ride height.
I went -8 clic from hard and now -12 ( front and rear ) .
Took the car out last night , so far so good , no rubbing or anything.
Not as stiff as before.
I think next week I'll be ready for alignement.
Very happy for now.:icon_tup:

mpcv2000 05-30-10 08:58 PM

I have lowered the rear a little bit more and gave some positive camber on the rear.

Almost ready for alignement .
