Recommend me a great set of brakes?

I thought about Brembos but it seems quite pricely. $240/rotor?! Anyone got deals on these?

I was looking into Porches. Can anyone offer me alternatives?

Thanks!

brake kit

If you want to upgrade your front brakes, it's gonna cost you. You can buy a kit from www.m2performance.com with either AP brake calipers, or Wilwood calipers for $1800-$2800 or you can purchase a set of brembos for around the same price. The FD already has excellent brakes, and only really needs upgrading if your running on the track. You can also try to source some Endless brakes, or Aclon (from Greddy). All of the AP brake kits are pretty much the same, but the M2 come with Champ car rotors that are really light. You might want to check with www.corksport.com or www.n-tech.net as well. Stillen also makes a kit with AP calipers, but I think it's even more expensive. good luck,

Do you want replacement parts for the stock brakes that have a good price/performance ratio or do you want a big brake kit?

If you want good replacement parts for the stock brakes, see my page on the subject:
http://www.maxcooper.com/rx7/how-to/...onthecheap.htm

If you want big brakes, be prepared to pay a lot of money. I agree they aren't necessary unless you track the car or need something flashy behind your big wheels. I have an AP 4-piston / champ car rotor set on order from N-Tech. They aren't cheap, but they are light and should offer outstanding performance.

The value leader in big brakes might be the Mandeville kit that lets you keep the stock calipers, or the less expensive Wilwood kit from M2. The 6-piston Wilwood kit from M2 looks nice, too, but it is only a few hundred cheaper than the AP kit once you add the upgraded pistons, though it is a good value in the basic configuration.

Hope that helps,
-Max
