Rear tires rubbing
whats up guys?
Well as the title say's i have a problem. The car has 285x30x18's on the rear and 225x30x18in the front. supposedly from what the guy i bought it from told me there is a two and a half inch drop in the rear and a inch and a half in the front. When my father was driving it we noticed when we would take a turn over 20 mph you could here the tires hitting and every bump it does the same. I love the car but i will not drive it the way it is and im dying to drive her because i just got her today:ylsuper: Now my question is if i buy tokico illumina's what would the ride height be i looked and couldnt find anything that said what it would be. I really dont want to go lower than a inch my father wants it to be factory ride height. What drop or if any what should the ride height be to sustain those tires? thanks mike |
Details on your wheels?

As ptrhahn said, post of information as to the wheel sizes and offsets as well as what suspension the car has on it currently. |

with only 225's up front you might as well go buy some 245s for the rear and sell the 285s or keep them for when you buy wider tires up front.

In looking at the offsets that RUFF wheels offer, you most likely have the 35mm offset. In that case, you probably way too much tire for that offset.

wow did your father order them new from the dealer?
that would be absurd... for the money you could get so much better parts with adjustability too... I think those wheels are pretty heavy, arent they? |
Time to roll the rear fenders. Had to do mine for my 275/40-17s.

The Racing Beat springs would have mad the situation even worse.
Your best bet would be to roll the fenders and then use a slightly smaller tire which will stretch on the rim (to help with clearance). Not exactly ideal, but it would work. |
