Rear Control Arm Bushing Replacement (Instructional Video)
1 Attachment(s)
This is the first of hopefully a series of instructional videos we will be producing. This video describes the entire process of replacing the rear control arm bushings on a 3rd generation Rx-7. Hopefully I will get a little better at this with time :)

Nice. I linked to this from the 3rd gen FAQ. Would be nice to see the vid w/o the annoying advertisement before it...

Thank you for the hard work. I like your method of pushing out the UCL inner bushings a lot better than jimlab's method as seen here:

No kidding, talk about unnecessary over-complication! But in Jim's defense, I think he may have been using the 12-ton press which may not have enough room to position the arms the way I did. At least I'd like to think that's why he did it that way :)

It was a Harbor Freight 20-ton press, but it was the A-frame model and didn't have enough clearance to remove the inner control arm bushings the way you did. Both ways work, so I guess I'm missing the point of the disparaging comments. :dunno:
I really dislike the A-arm presses. I had the 12-ton model and it failed catastrophically, twice. I like the H-frame design much better. |
