Racking my brain over which wheel width to go with (17x9 or 17x10 FN01R-C)

I am planning on picking up a set of matte black FN01R-C's next week, but what front wheel to go with is killing me. I know I'm getting 17x10 +35 for the rear. I am going to run 275/40-17 RT-615's and for the front I am going run 255/40-17 RT-615's. Now I know that the 17x9 +35 will probably be the best fit, but I am so tempted to get the 17x10 +35 for a concave front wheel as well since it apparently fits with 255/40's as seen dregg's car here...

Any opinions?

I must also note that this is a track car that will never see drift events and I absolutely hate the look of stretched tires, so I want to avoid that.

+35 up front on a 10" wheel will be tight (actually might be tight on the rear, too, with a 275 tire). you'll need to run that 255 tire to fit it and thus not really be able to take advantage of the 10" wheel (other than looks).... 255 will fit fine on a 9" wheel.

No disrespect to dregg, but I don't think that looks good on a stock body FD. I would go for the 9" in the front unless you have some aftermarket fenders. Take a look at LAN's car:

The wheels fit the proportion of the car better rather than looking like a Matchbox car.

Yeah I generally agree. I was hoping to find better pictures that showed better detail of dregg's setup, but I could not.

Honestly, I think I may go with my gut on this one and just get the RPF1's in 17x9.5+38 and 17x9+35 (or+40) like I had planned on since sometime last year.

He's not the only one (or the first) to run that setup on those wheels. There are serveral others who have which you can find pictures probably in this thread:

(same thread that the LAN pictures are from). The setup looks the same on stock bodied FD's which IMO is not good. However, it's your car so mod the car for you, not for anyone else.

I saw a lot of those, but didn't think the 225/235 stretched tires was a good representation of what I was looking for. Did give me an general idea of what it would look like though.

I think I just needed some sense talked into me. The last set of wheels I bought was a set of 18x10.5R/9.5F +22 TE37's for my old 350Z (see picture below). Now that I can neither fit nor afford a wheel that looks that good on my RX7, I was blinded by desperation.

I personally think the fitment on "Dreggs" FD looks great. I think the FN01-RCs only look good with a concave face, and if that was the wheel I was planning on running, I would get the 10s up front even if it meant I had to run a slightly smaller tire and do some fender rolling. Im not into the whole super low offset and tire stretch thing myself, but a 255 on a 10 isnt that bad. I would ideally like a slightly higher offset up front for that width, but as I said, I dont like the flat-faced FN01RCs..
