race tires and wheels arrived!
 

Hoosier A6's and Volk CE28s for autox. The Volks in 17 X 9 are 14lbs on my scale...about 5lbs lighter than my HRE 540s at 17 X 8.5! Coupled with the Hoosiers that are 21lbs, and that's a savings of 10-11 pounds at each corner! Nice reduction in unsprung weight! Looking forward to putting them in action :-)

On your FD? I wasn't aware that the CE28N was available in a 9" width with offsets for the FD.

thanks for the compliments. Offsets are +40. I didnt think they were this light either...they're 1/2 pound heavier than the early, non-reinforced stock FD wheels

who/where do you ax in NJ? i'm going to giants stadium sept 9 and 15 with www.motorsportsne.com if you wanna go. sweet setup. why only 245's on the 9 inch wheel? and curious what you think of the v710's vs your hoosiers.

Hoosiers are wider than street tires in the same size.

I race at englishtown. Never made it up to the giants stadium events. I'm 22 miles south of etown and that just fine for me. I've heard the giants stadium courses are faster, however. I'll give it a shot one of these days. It's tough for me to make it to etown at 8am, let alone meadowlands. I dont get out of work till midnight on fridays. The Hoosiers, to me, seemed liked the better choice. Lighter than the V710s, reportedly last more consistently, and are a more ideal size(didnt want a larger sidewall than stock size, which 245-45s, 255-40s, and 275-40s are)

No, not yet. I failed to mention my fronts are 8.5" in width. The race shop I'm taking the car into for alignment and corner-weighting will be addressing this issue if it exists.

cool. i know a lot of the scca guys at etown but i never race there because they always have way too many competitors (6 runs), the lots break up a lot, and the courses are usually very tight, tire killers. i'll try to meet up with you there in oct though.
which shop you taking your car to for corner weighting? that porsche place (can't remember the name offhand).

Yeah, the courses are pretty tight there. My goal for now is to be number 1 in ASP. I'm always second to last and the only guy with street tires. Are you refering to Bodymotion in Ocean twshp??? If so, yes, that's where I've gone for the align and corner-weight before.

yes bodymotion is good and expensive. my friend is mgr at sears auto in new brunswick and he does my alignments, tire mounting, etc.
considering you are coming from street tires to hoosiers, i bet you won't be second to last next event. kick ass and good luck. what hp and suspension mods you got?
