Quick questions regarding getting alignment
OK guys, looking for some insight prior to taking my car to the local place to get a 4-wheel alignment. In my sig you will see my mods, some may remember the car. Now, I need an alignment, the car tracks straight but I have too much camber in the rear. There is a Merchant's Tire here I go to whenever I need tires mounted or the oil changes on my daily driver. They are fairly cool about most thinks. Anyhow, they use the typical big, red rack to drive the car up and use an electronic 4-wheel alignment machine. My question, am I going to be able to get this done? 1) No one drives the car but me. 2) if they can even get the car up on the rack, will they be able to do an alignment? the car sits low and has the wide rims/tires on there, I am not taking the ADVANs off for this.
Basically I am not familiar with exactly how they do the process, nor do I think many places have the experience of doing this type of work on such a low/performance oriented car. |
If they can get it on their rig, it should be fine. Most likely, if they don't have extensions for their ramp, it won't make it.

You just need to find someone who has access to the same equipment they have and knows what they are doing ;)

I would look around for a shop that is used to doing alignments on sports cars. Try a "racing" shop nearby and see if they do street cars. A knowledgable alignment place will have the proper equipment to get your car up on the ramp without damage.

Maybe check the Miata club or Porsche club local to you, SCCA or something, see where they get setup/aligned. I found my guy in Cali through the MR2 club |
