Put wheels further apart?
Put wheels further apart?
Hey all, would there be any benifit in autox/road racing to use a wider tire with more of a rear wheel drive offest to get the wheels fairly far apart? I know that wider is better, but I also know that the suspension is kinda tricky to mess around with.
This is what I need to know. Are you gonna modify your fenders? Putting the wheels farther apart meaning wider wheels or lower offsets?
Are you trying to gain wheel track by taking stockers and using spacers or you just want a wider wheel and tire.

This is kind of a what if ? This will be done on a FC with a R magic widebody kit. I would be setting it up for a track car but not just racing. I was wondering about using wider rim/tires with lower offset. To make the car more stable but not really hurt turn in quickness that much.
WEll that's really the only reason to go widebody. To get a wider tire in the rear. Don't worry about the front so much. I'd get a 245 up there if i could and call it quits. That will give you enough predictability.,
Run a 275 or 285 in the rear.
