Hello im looking a while ago for a brake upgrade but i really dont want to spend 3 k on a brembo gran turismo kit, i saw a while ago that the re amemiya d1 car has a set of project mu rotors with the stock calipers but i dont know if they are the same diameter of the stock brakes or they used this kit ofered in 345mm the thing is that a guy is giving me this rotor for a money he owned me so do you think there will be any fitting problem with this LARGE rotors and the stock fd 4 piston calipers here is the pic so you can check.. look the same to me

 

The 345mm rotors are probably wider than the stock rotors. The stock rotors are .81" wide.

 

that might be a '99 caliper, which are essentially the same looking, but accomodate a wider, larger-diameter rotor.

 

in their website they are listed for upgrade without the use of bigger caliper thats why this aplication is intended for cars that usually equip 4 piston calipers but i will try to get some more info on the matter they also sell a rear upgrade too...

 

I think you need the late model calipers.

A few months ago I fitted the Series 8 RS brakes to my 92 series 6 which I use for circuit racing.

The OEM rotors lasted only ONE weekend before all 4 cracked.

Mind you it was at Queensland Raceway - hard on brakes.

I then fitted the P Mu rotors and they have been great.

The fronts are 330mm x 32mm. Not sure in inches.
I vaguely recall the rears are 330mm x 20mm?

I used SBS DC pads and they were excellent. Mind you they were the pads used when the OEM rotors cracked but the SBS were great over 75 laps of racing at Winton raceway with the P Mu rotors

I had a set of Ferodo DS2500 pads in stock so fiitted them recently and they are OK but not as much bite as SNS DC in my opinion.

Car runs twin 32mm Brembo master cylinders, ABS removed and a balance bar. Braidied lines.

But in my experience P Mu rotors work fine with Mazda calipers but only the later models from about 99.

Those Project Mu rotor sizes munroman/steve - I've just ordered a set for the later calipers (32mm wide rotors) however I was quoted 314mm in diameter - are you actually running the 330mm and did you need to move the calipers further away from the hub? cheers Steve too.
