Opinions on these wheels for my FC
What do you guy's think about these wheels for my '91 NA? Kosei Racing Senaka 17x7 with Khumo ECSTA Supra 712 at 215-45-17? They have a +35mm offset, and I thought the stock rims have +42mm offset. Will there be any problems with fitment? Any idea how heavy they are?

Don't do it man. I sell rims and tires for a living. They're my passion. The problem with putting a "knockoff" rim, universal boltpatterns etc., on the FC's or D's or 300z's, is it doesn't space out right to the fender. As well as the tire being skinny as hell.
I know they make certain applications in an 8" width, with a 40mm offset. This is ideal. You can rotate your tires if you run a 225/45/17 front and rear, it'll look better and is only 9 revs/mile difference in favor of topper speed. I reccomend the M3 setup. Depending on your suspension and ABS or not, you can run a 225/40 or 45 up front and a 245/40 in rear. Looks more aggressive. Oh yeah, I own four FC's and do multiple test fitments on them constantly. The ultimate in a 17" would be a 9" or 9.5" rim, w/ a 35-38mm offset, 8's the biggest most common fitment for the front. An 18*9 would be sweet, with a 17 up front. I got some 3 piece ssr's staggered on my GTX, 18*8.5 w/ 255/40/18 in rear and a 17*8 w/ a 225/40/17 up front. My buddy has 17*8 and 17*9.5 on his '87 n/a. 255/40 in rear w/ racing beat springs&illuminas, he drives like a maniac, and it still doesn't rub. I plan on getting some 18*9 OZ Superleggeras pretty soon. They're forged aluminum, less than 18lbs. Anyways, I'd hook you up but you're far away. If you PM me your budget, I can give you advice on weight, size, tires, and some numbers you can take to negotiate with your local distributor. Hey Rishie, (or others interested) With the wheels that I posted above will 225-45R17 fit front and rear?
I checked my stock rims and they appear to have a +40mm offset, so the Kosei's are closer than I thought. Any idea what they weigh? ------------------ Al |
