umm... probably not. with a bit of camber and fender pull, then probably. here's that size wheel/offset with a 215/40... err actually thats with a 3mm spacer. so +14. but the 225/45 will be sticking out just a tiny bit more. this is with -1.5 camber... so if you run more than that you may be able to tuck it in, but it will be hard.

Traded the Azenis for some Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212. Does it still seem wrong to be running the federal 595 in the rear? What would you suggest then?

Also how wide can I go in the rear with a 17x9 +35??
I just don't understand why you're running different tires front and rear for grip... IMHO, I Would run the same tire front and rear. if you're looking to change the handling characteristics, just change the size of the tire. also, which 595's are you running? I just realized there's like 3 different 595's available... lol...

17x9 in 5x114.3 +15mm front
17x10 5x114.3 +12mm rear

30mm widefenders all around.

so this is a definite yes? mostly concerned about the offset
yes, should be fine fine. but if you're trying to fit something huge in the rear, might be best to go with the +25's instead (I'm assuming these are FN's from the sizes/offsets?)

lol yeah, you guessed it

17x9 FNO1RC the lowest offset available in 5x114.3 is +15mm

17x10 FNO1RC the lowest offset available in 5x114.3 is +12mm
so i'd want 17x9 +15mm, 17x10 +25mm?

just tryin this again, need some help. would 17x8 +35 F with 225/40/17 and 17x9 +35 R with 245/40/17 be a good fit as far as offset, overall diameter and fender clearance?
thanks

Running different tires in the rear since there isn't as much stress on the rear wheels and they are a lot cheaper.

Running the SS 595

ok so I have confiremed that a 17x9 at +35 and a 245/40/17 tire in the back will work fine with no fender roll

now will a 17x7 at +40 work in the front.. and if so what size tire do u think I should put on those rims?

hmm.... you're planning on racing this car? (or driving it fast)? is it not still RWD or something? why don't you think there will be as much stress on the rears? IMHO, unless your car is an understeer *****, or you only have like 50hp, or its FWD, then the rear will have more stress...
but, give it a shot. the 595 ss are pretty cheap, so if you don't like them, not like it will be a big waste of money. but if you do, post your opinions... I'm interested.

so i'd want 17x9 +15mm, 17x10 +25mm?
yeah, this should be good for at least 255's front, and 285+ rears.

It has too much power, but I'm going to borrow some slicks to see what it does in the 1/4. Other than that it will be driven to meets, thunderhill, autocross. oRdered the 255/40/17 feds for the rear.

getting new tires and rims and wanted to know if it would fit on a stock fender fc w/o rubbing?

F: 18x8+30 w/245-40-18
R: 18x9 +35 w/275-40-18

will the tires clear the fenders and suspension (Tein S-tech's)?

cool. when you get the tires, you should post up how well you like it.

no. tires are too big. if you have some - camber, the rears 'might' clear the fender, but probably not without at least a little pulling. def. a nice roll.
fronts, same thing. but this will probably take a bit more camber than the rear.
best bet would be to go down to like 235's/255's... or 265's if they even make that size? and they will still probably require a roll to fit.

I just put 17x7's with +40 on my fc with 215/45/17 tires. They seem to fit just fine but I have not actually driven the car with them yet. It's not my DD.

Rears are tight, and yes, it would require a small spacer to fit them in back of an FC.

I just bought 18x8.5s and 18x9.5s with a 35 offset. What tire sizes do you guys recommend. I was thinking about 275/35s and 245/35s or maybe some smaller 265/40 and 235/40 what do you guys think would be best. I would like to run my car as low as possible and not rub. I have coilovers so suspension clearance isnt a problem

Fronts not a problem...

Rears are going to hit the fender lip.

Not going to fit up front...
Just by the offset of the wheels, the fronts will hit the insides.

Rears not a problem with those wheels or tires.

coilovers actually have worse clearance than stock style struts. im assuming you test fit the wheels in the front? i fit 255/40/17 +30 on front with tein flex's, so 245 'should' fit with your +35 offset. it will be damn close though.
you should play it safe and buy a used tire and mount it, to see for sure. i've found 17" tires for 20 bucks a pair in craigslist, so its a reasonable option.

Will a 9.5 in the rear with a +20 offset running stock quarters and Tein Type Flex and either a 255/35 or 265/35 fit? I know I would have to roll the inner lip of the quarter but other than then would it work?

Here's my dilemma...

I own a very clean 87 Base model... 4 lug hubs... about all I can find to fit the 4 - 114.3 bolt pattern are 17 x 7's w/ 40mm offset, with Eiback prokit springs.

I keep reading about a 5 lug conversion, but I've been searching all day, but all links to it are dead links. I'm guessing it must've been deleted? I'm not sure what this conversion entails... Hell, I could even just do the rears to save, as I was planning on different rim sizes anyway.

So, really I have two questions...
1) Where the hell is this write up regarding the 5 lug conversion

2) If I decide its too much of a pain in the a$$, what size tire isnt too big for a 17x7 but wont look like it belongs on a bicycle?

IF you're running a LOT of camber, then maybe. but it will most likely take a bit of fender work.

this is 9.5 + ~18 with a 235 and about 1.5 degrees of camber. so 255-265 will take a bit more pull
