The Official FC Wheel Fitment Thread
I'm having a hard time trying to get a pair of wheels for the back of my car. I'm wanting CE28's that are 17x9.5 +40 but as of now, it's looking to be around $1450 shipped. I've been looking on Yahoo auctions for 1/2 a year now for the perfect match to come up, but nothing ever does.

That is a little too close.
Add in that 5mm spacer you mentioned and you are OK.
But with a +35 offset you will be limited to 255 tire width without rolling the fender lip under or a lot of negative camber as I am running a narrow 275 tire (NT01) and it barely clears full suspension travel at ~ 1deg negative camber.
the tire will be the first thing to contact the trailing arm, unless you're stretched, so BLUE_TII's wheel size doesnt affect anything.
FWIW my 285's barely rubbed with +27...
so 275 on a +40 is definately cutting it close. fitment that tight really depends on which tire you choose.

If I were to run 17x9's with 255 wide tires, what offsets would be needed to work with stock fenders? I figure the rears will be fine from looking at Blue TII's setup.
I was thinking 17x9 +35 rear with 255/40/17, on front I was thinking 17x9 +25 with 255/40/17. I would imagine that requires pulling and rolling the fronts. But definitely would like to hear thoughts on it.

17x9 +35 w/ 255/40 tire is about perfect. The front will obviously require a little rolling and pulling. However, I think +25 is a little to close and will hit your suspension. You will need to shoot for around +18 to +22 for a perfect fit. I have CE28's that are 17x9 +22 and they are just a tad too close for my liking (depends on different coilovers). I'll probably run a spacer, no more than 5mm.

Edit: After looking it only comes in +15 and +35 for 17x9, and has a +25 for 17x8. So I'll probably get the +15 for the front and see how it goes, may have to get wider fenders.

i wanna see how it sits in relationship to a stock fender..
thanx
Sorry, another question, if I were to get the 17x9 with +35 and run a 5mm spacer on the front, could it work? Just dependent on how close to the suspension it is?
Trying to keep scrub radius to a minimum, and forgot about it until I read Blue TII's post.

You'll need to bring it to about +25 or lower for the wheel to clear the suspension. Suspension type also matters.
I'm running a 17x9 w/ 255/40/17 up front, with +24 offset under factory fenders. Scrub radius is almost nothing.

Biggest tire/wheel combo?
Hey,
I'm running a decent amount of HP so I was thinking it would be a good idea to put as much rubber on the ground as I can. It would also be nice if both front and back were the same size to make the tires a bit easier.
Basically, what is the max size wheel and tire I can run? (and best offset). I was thinking 17" rims. Probably 40 or 45 aspect ratio.
My fenders have already been rolled (some).
Thanks.
John

If you want to pull the fenders, follow Josh18_2k's lead with 17X9 (255) and 17X10.5 rear (285). Pulling fenders isnt for the faint of heart, and its near impossible to do without hosing up the paint. So if you car has decent paint, stick to a mild roll and follow BlueTII's lead.
~Mike...........
sorry i retract my previous reply didnt read the sizings correctly...could i run a 235/45/17 front on a 17x8+27.. and 255/40/17 rear on a 17x9 +30...will this sit inside the fender well,or for that matter will it fit
Those are the same as these front wheels:
