Ya, I kicked the bee hive over with that response. Either those who know better will support, if not I could give two *****. I'm young enough to see the new trends and dig some of them, but old enough and wise enough to not follow suit and make my own intelligent decisions based on my goals and not do "what’s cool" and try to be "different" even though those who are trying to be different are really just following what some other dipshit has done already. Look at this new "donk" tread with 30" wheels on Caprice's and other large cars with lifted suspension so those HUGE wheels fit LOL. If you have different goals, cool, don’t give LAME *** excuses or other justifications for what you choose and convince the naive otherwise. It’s a style and don't BS anyone otherwise. Lastly, a dedicated track car is NOT the same as a kid with his first car, so DON'T tell him **** fits when it doesn’t. Saying, "ya, it fits, look hers a pic" when the car only sees a track, and/or it has NO SUSPENSION travel and the fenders are ROLLD and PULLED damn well knowing this "kid" asking if these will bolt up has no skill to mod his fenders or won't encounter anyone who can help him IN REALITY not the internet. He probly doesn't know that camber is NOT a wheel fiting tool, but will listen to some TOOL on the internet and run large amounts of camber so those rediculous wheels fit compromising BRAKING and TURNING ability. He also won't know that those tires he worked all summer to afford will wear out in weeks because he used CAMBER as a fitting tool and those new tires looked fresh on the outside were you can see them, but wore a strip down to THREADS on the inside and POPED! wide fenders in the front, maybe wide fenders in the back.

 

you could probably fit on pulled stock fenders. but it will take a little work.

I orderd the ame shallen cx wheels and its going to be 3 months b4 i get them . Now i am adding the cork sport overfenders and they add bit more than 1 inch in the front and they add exactly 1 inch in the rear, i allready cut the wheel well about 1 inch in diameter and molded the overfenders on. I have also cut the small lip of the over fenders to compensate for the larger rims...

I am almost done with the body work and want to make sure, 3months from now wen i get the rims they will be flush.

How much will these rims stick out or how much will they be sunken in?

fronts 18x9 +16 & 3.5 "lip rears 18x10 +10 & 5.3"lip

that looks like it adds LESS than an inch, if you measure at the same point on each lip (inside to isnide OR outside to outside)

 

from stock fc body with lip still there it adds lil bit more than 1 inch
yes it does add less if the lips were still there.

 

I like to run 225 front and 235 rear on a 9/10 staggered setup, and with that in mind, they will be a bit sunk. Those sizes can be made to fit stock fenders. I wouldn't worry about it too much though, because you can always add spacers once you put the wheels and tires on if you want them closer to the fenders. You're not going to have to add huge spacers to get them to fit nice.

Wait till you get the wheels, put on the tires you want, and see how you like it from there.

EDIT: It doesn't really look like you snipped the fenders when you put on the flares. Is that just the camera angle?

I see I see. I missed where you wrote that you did cut the lip off the overfenders. you will have plenty of clearance and those wheels will fit nicely.

I hate how you did the bodywork though, sealing up the seams between the bumpers and the fenders / body. I always have hated that, it makes the car an obvious boy work bondo fiasco and hard as hell to ever replace any panels that get damaged, well, hard to replace them without a ****-ton of work. I think a clean FC looks just perfect and if you seal up those gaps and fill in the sidemoulding grooves, it just looks like a pile of bondo to me, waiting to crack and chip and peel, yuck.

it is good to see someone using corksport panspeed replica over fenders though, not many people use them but I think theyre pretty damn cool. I just prefer the rivet-on-look too I guess.

 

Aww crap yea I didn't notice. You molded in your bumpers and sideskirts. Not a good idea unless you plan on never driving the car.

 

No bondo here..... I used was thin coat of (GLAZE) icing to make the ruff coarse fiberglass smooth and paintable. Dura glass makes the panels stronger than they were for sure, its short hair fibers mixd with polymer resin u could say ..

Awsome to get more clarifacation that the rims i spent so long looking for and money on will be sittin preety flush..

One more question ..... what series tire should i run? I have racing beat springs and kyb struts and i dont wann go any lower than i allready am. i currently have 225/35/18 7.5 lol!

would these fit under stock fenders? 18x8+38 and 18x9.5+45 or what would be the perfect offset for stock fenders with the same rim size?...

 

the 8 would work in the front with either a spacer or a stretched 205 with camber. +30 works better for that width though.

In the rear, +35-+38 would work nicely.

 

so i dont have to roll any of my fenders right? thanks! would you or anyone happen to know what series tires i should run on these? i'm planning on upgrading my suspension also...KYB shocks with some lowering springs...i dont know yet what though...but yeah, thanks for the help!

 

a 205 will be very very tight with lowering springs, but it should work in the front.

I would run a ~8 mm spacer, get some longer lug studs and run a 225 instead.

In the back, get a 10 mm spacer and run a 255.

It's a proven fact that camber is not to blame for most people's tire wear issues (unless they are tracking, obviously that is a whole 'nother story) but rather poor toe. I really don't think I need to dig up evidence and I will likely not see this thread for another couple of months, so don't bother with retort.

 

right, and most people's camber are not in the -3 to -4 degree range either.

 

Need a check on these specs please guys.....16x7 in front +38offset, 16x8 in rear +0 offset. I'am looking for flush look fender rolling will not be an issue for me since i have access to the tool. Experienced Opinions please.

 

you're looking at overfenders in the rear. 16 x7 + 38 in the front is only 2mm outwards of stock fitment.
