Offest Calculator with tire size compensation
 

here's an excel sheet I made up to quickly compute not only the Wheel size and offest adjustments, but the tire size (section width) and the amount that the tire will expand when placed on a large rim than what it was measured on.

for the expansion.. I used the accepted .2 inch of tire swell per .5 inch of whell width above that which the tire was measure on....

section width is the widest ppoint on the tires, usually about 1/2 up the sidewalls and it is what kill us second gen guys on the front as it digs into the strut tower that is STUPID close from the factory...


example... a 225/50/15 tire that has a section width of 8.5 as measured on a 7 inch rim will have about an 8.9 section width if it is mounted on an 8 inch rim..

You can find the Section with and meas rim diameter for each tire size under the "spec" tab on the tires page on www.Tirerack.com just search for the tire you want and the brand, and then click on specs.

to use it... plug your stock rims in (for a TII its 7 inches wide and +40mm ofset, for a third gen its 8 inches wide and +50 mm offest) the the section width and measuring rim diameter for the tires you are running now, the tire you want to get, and then the new rims and offsets (you have to do it once for the front and once for the back if you are running staggers)

just make sure you get the section width specs for the tires you are going to use and the tires you have on there now (use 8.5 for the stock TII tires)... otherwise, only the "wheels only" to the middle left will work..

If you have any other wheels on there than stock TII rims... you'll have to put those numbers in and modify the "IN" and Out values...

Or just tell me and do it for you and mail it to ya.l

I'll have to go look at the gsl i have in the garage and see if there is the same or more room with the stock wheels and tires on it.......
