No V-clips on my rear brakes?!? WTF?
So I am changing to SS lines and HP+ pads and I am doing the rears first, and when I pulled the calipers, on both rear calipers, there were no v-clips holding the pads off the rotor. In fact, the pads just came right off when I removed the caliper. Is this something that I need to worry about? I dont want to be dragging the rears.
Anyone have a part number for them? BTW - its a 16MM wrench to roll the caliper back in to fit new pads, FYI I just stuck a screwdriver in the box end of the wrench and rotated the caliper 360 degrees no problem. Best, -Jason |
I run without them on track, and have done so on the street too. It's not the end of the world. You can only get them with a set of stock pads (Lame)....

Many cars are missing them because it's such a pain to install them. I always use mine though.

FD01-26-233 is the part number for the rear v-springs. The front brake hardware is only available with stock pads though. |
hell....i double sprung each pair. but it really doesnt matter whether u even have one, although id prefer it just for a little bit more of an insurance that the pads would ever come out, even though thats even unlikely

I'm running without them now and they bug me. I have slotted rotors that catch the rear pads and cause them to make lots of noise. I just ordered a set stock rear pads from Ray at Malloy just so that I could get the V springs... I wish I knew that they could be ordered separatley....
