Just got some new rims..now I need to get some tires...lol...actually need to get the RX-7 back together. Spring/Summer project.. Gonna name it Project Phoenix. Since it hasn't been driven in like 5 years..born from the ashes.... and here is the beginning of it :)

Now I wonder how long will it be before they go on the 7 :) Still have Yokohama Super Advan Racing 17's on there now.

Nice nice nice. One of the lightest and strong wheels made.

Len-Len 03-26-11 04:15 PM

Those are stupid sexy

LongRX7 03-27-11 01:13 AM

Thanks. Lol not sure about stupid sexy :). But I do like them :)

i just made a mess in my pants

YoshiFD3S 03-28-11 07:45 PM

How much did those run you?

What tire sizes you going with?

Post pics or perish! lol :P

LongRX7 03-29-11 11:05 AM

Price a little over $1900 BNIB.

Tires...? Been mulling over that... thinking...
235/40/18 Fronts
275/35/18 Rears

Was worried about some rubbing, but just gonna trim the fender well.

Pics on the car..that might be awhile..gotta work on the car now...and I have a long list of things to do :)

LongRX7 03-29-11 11:06 AM

BTW..you're car looks sweet. The engine swap is sweet too..might go that route or LS1, if/when this motor blows...

papsmagu 03-29-11 03:25 PM

sweet choice!

Thanks, man! My particular swap has been a headache n' a half, but it will all be worth it very soon... :]

From my experience, I think a 245 for the 18X8.5 and a 285 for the 18X9.5 will give you the most flush look to match the width of the rims themselves.

Make sure you run 245/35 and then 285/30 so the tire heights match and they don't scrub.

My first FD was all goobered up thx to previous owner. It had 245/40/18 and 285/30/18..not only did the tire height NOT match, but the front's scrubbed the stock fender. >_<

Yours will look great, though!

:]

Measurement of the CE28N Time Attacks are:

18x8.5 offset +40
18x9.5 offset +34

Wouldn't that rub? Anyone feel free to chime in here...still haven't ordered tires yet :)

If you run a 245 on the front with that offset, you will rub if you dont roll the fender.

On the rear, you should be fine with a 275. I have a 275 rear with a +38 and i ONLY rub on hard acceleration, but weirdly, just on the passenger side so that means my suspension is f'ed. But like yoshi said, 285 rear will give you a flush look. I would just roll all fenders so you can run a perfect tire setup.

Wheels are AWESOME btw. I've always wanted those wheels for years. Even begged someone (cough cough rx7rage) to sell it to me when he decided to sell and when it was time, he decided to sell it to a local guy!!!! damn you gene!! lol

How long was the wait for those wheels?? That will probably be my next wheel. That or the same exact wheel/offset/size as phil's MB.

So you think that 245/35/18's will rub on that +40 offset? Maybe a 235 would be a safer bet, then?

On my old FD it came with some 18X9's (+38mm) on the rear that had 285/30/18's. At stock ride height, I didn't rub at all.

It had 18X8 (+40mm) with 245/40/18's on the front, and those DID scrub on hard turns, etc...mainly because the tires were obviously just too dang tall. If they were 245/35/18 I bet they wouldn't have rubbed. Again, this was all at stock height though...

On your lowered FD with stock fenders, an 18X8.5 (+34mm) running 245/35/18's, I'm starting to agree with 1QWIK7 that it would probably scrub.

Here's some pics of my old FD, might help give you some reference..

You just gave me a new favorite wheel, and It comes in the color combo I wan't!

They look great on the CYM, very good taste.

papsmagu 07-28-11 12:44 PM

nice cym, but the yellow is so bright i can barely see the wheels! just joking. awesome set up. we have the same taste in cars and wheels, except i have TE37's.

LongRX7 08-01-11 10:05 AM

I would think so too...lol..that's why I had originally planned to buy them for my VR FD... but ended up picking up a CYM FD too :)

Bought the rims from a Supra guy in Tulsa.. got lucky I guess. He had posted them for awhile on the Supra forums, but the width wasn't wide enough for big HP Supras :) But perfect for FD's :D

Nakd n Fearless 11-19-11 06:43 AM

those are not the wheels you are looking for... you will sell them to me

Tp3RX7 11-19-11 01:25 PM

Beautiful wheels and a beautiful cym!

jermzz 11-21-11 01:03 AM

those look nice! :)

lOOkatme 11-27-11 02:47 PM

You should have got 245/35/18 Kumho XS with 265/35/18 kumho XS rear. Thats what i would have gotten.

Nakd n Fearless 02-05-14 08:47 PM

Are you ready and willing to sell those wheels (Ce28n TA) yet?

Oun 02-06-14 01:01 AM

would you like to sell your ADVAN 17's?
