New Lugs

I had to replace my stock locking lugs as they were beginning to strip when I last rotated my tires (Falken).

I saw some lugs by McGard that were awesome.....but I couldn't find anyone that could get them ....Finally, out of frustration, I emailed McGard customer service and told them my dilema....they responded with the number to Summit..............I called, ordered and they delivered........

I couldn't put them on because my locking lug key was stripping the lugs, so I went to Tires Plus, where I got my rubber. Since they do free rotations, I let them replace them with my new Splinedrive lugs. Not only does it require a special tool (like a key) to mount them, they are way too cool , as I got the ones that have Red caps on them (My Rex is Vintage Red w/Chrome stock rims).

Go to www.McGard.com, select automotive products, search by vehicle, select Mazda & scroll down to the 65557RC

I'll post a pix this weekend, if Hurricane Jeane doesn't pose any probs.

These lugs really dress up the chrome rims. I know my Rex is 12 years old and beginning to show some age, but, since I had to replace the locks anyway, I said why not?

Total cost: $77

Just click on the "www.McGard.com" after the intro, select "English" w/U.S. flag, then select "Automotive Products" on the left side, Then, select "search product applications by vehicle type, then select "car" and select Mazda from the drop down box and select "SEARCH". When the screen refreshes, scroll down to the 65557RC part number.

I tried it earlier and I think their site was down for a few.

I just tried it.....it works now.

Yep, I'm using the spline type lug nuts as well:

If you have two sets a wheels you change back and forth to often, use some anti-seize with the lug nuts.

Yep, $55. They are single color (as far as I know), but come in a few different colors.

Id reccomend Mutegis or kyokagens (sp)

I have used Kyokugen's several times and due to the heptagonal design they have a tendency to round. This is why we've moved over to the Muteki lugs on all our vehicles. This is a spline, similar construction and design to kyo's with less problems. The muteki's are also a little cheaper so it's a win win situation.

Ive read similar things about the kyokagens (sp)

I decided to get the Mutekis in black and it looks sweet on my wheels because the black of the lug nutsd matches the rivets on my volks.. unfortunately, those arent on my sig pic.. but you get the idea...

I got the Mutekis for $29.99 on ebay + 10 to ship from evasive motorsports
