Need help with tire size for 18x9 +35
 

I have a 93 FD, and I recently jumped on a great deal for some RPF1's. I am sort of regretting it because they are only 18x9 +35's and most people are running 18x9.5's. I was thinking of doing 245/35/18 (or possible 255/35/18 because there are better tire choices in that size) in the front and 265/30/18 or 275/30/18 in the rear. I have searched, and googled, and looked at the fitment thread all day, and have not found a conclusive answer. I have seen anywhere from 235/40 to insane numbers in the back, with staggered and non staggered. I just want to make sure I "measure once and cut twice" when I purchase my tires. I plan on running a wider tire size in the rear so staggered is out. Any idea's or help would be greatly appreciated.

* I meant that a squared set up is out, not a staggered set up.

What's wrong with a squared set up? I'd run 265/35-18 on all four 18x9s.

Fenders rolled or not? What camber do you want to run?
If fenders are not rolled, I'd go 245/35-18 with -1° or more front camber. In back, 255/35, maybe 265.
With rolled fenders, I'd probably still go with 245/35 fronts, and 265/35-18 rears, but 255/35 should also work up front, particularly with some camber.

IMO square setups are overrated. And 265 is kinda pinched on a 9" wheel, probably not much more ultimate lateral grip than a 245 on 9" and with the additional weight, tire height, and pooch, steering feel will suffer with that size mounted up front. I don't think you're going to find any 265/30-18 or 275/30-18 sizes, only 35 aspect ratio, once you go wider than 255 you are definitely looking at taller-than-stock diameters (unless you're running track-only Hoosiers).

Personally, for a street or even street/track setup, 245 or 255 is about as wide as I'd want to go up front anyway, because any wider than that and you are getting into taller-sidewalled and heavier tires.

Thanks for the help guys. I am ok with negative camber, -1 to -2 is ok with me. I remember I had to do some moderate negative camber in front and back when I had my S2K. Forgot to mention that I am on stock suspension at the moment, so a drop is in order.
