My FD custom wheel set up.
i did some measuring today and im going to try and fit 16x12's in the rear of my fd and 16x10's in the front
im gunna use a 7" backspace for all 4. if i use enough camber i should be able to tuck the tires i think. tires will be 225/45/16 F and 245/45/16 rear. any input would be cool. thanks |
So you'll be running the same size tires that you can fit on stock 8 inch width wheels. Explain to me why you are doing this?

well not that I would do this.... but, fronts should be fine, people run 10" wide with 7" backspacing and 280odd tyre without too much issue, rear I dont know, but you should probably be able to tuck the tyre with enough camber, your only issue may be fouling the trailing arms with a 16" wheel.
Why not run the same wheels with like a 280 tyre front and a 315ish out back? fronts would be ok I think, and maybe just flare the rear guards and that would work too... in conclusion, more tyre = more happiness |

Really? Well in that case I think you're an idiot.

Are you going to do pulled and rolled fenders? You need it for sure to pull off 16 x 12/ 16 x 10 (offsets too?). I would go with a 17 or an 18 just so you can get a lower profile tire, and more choices.
I would definitely modify the alignment/suspesion as well. Especially if you intend on properly slamming the car to go with the look you are trying to achieve. |
