Just bought me some et drag slicks and it said that i must use a tube ,can the ordinry auto tube work or do i have to get the special tube that mickey thompson sells,Also how much air should i run in these slicks.

I ran the MT ET Drags with out tubes! I know a few guys do this. If they only see the track and are not seeing 11 and under times I would not worry about them. But that is just my 2cents... Mike

15psi would be a good amount.

I would start at about 20 PSI and work your way down. see where you like it

got a roll cage? Needed if running 11's and below! I ran 15 lbs in my et drags. But then again I never really launched hard. Just used them to get rid of my wheel hop and didnt want to brake the rearend... So you will need to see what works best for you as far as preasure goes. I can say I wasnt happy with the feeling of 115+mph with those tires and no tubes. Felt as I was drifting around!! I was on the brakes asap when I hit the trap lights..

Drag slicks need to be run at a lower pressure. Start at 13psi and then drop down 1 psi to see if it helps your 60ft and 1/8th mile times. Between 10-12psi is where slicks should be run. Some guys even air them down to 8psi!

I run 26x8.5" M/T ET Drags on lightweight Bogart 15x8" rims (8lbs each) and usually air them between 10-12 psi and do a healthy burnout on them the 1st run of the day and then less the next run as they are already heated and the compounds remain sticky.

11.99 and faster requires a 6pt rollbar, 10.99 and faster requires an 8pt rollbar or a cage depending upon which rules your track runs (IHRA/NHRA). Normally just a rollbar is needed with 5pt belts to 10.00et's and a helmet of course. Don't forget slicks require a driveshaft safety loop 6" behind the front Ujoint also to avoid the pesky pole vault snapping driveshaft show for the crowd.

Mariah Motorsports sells Autopower rollcages. Autopower offers a kit that is weld in for only $350 10pt cage and IMO is a smoking deal. I have a 10pt bolt in cage and the fit is great. 6x6" 1/8" thick plate steel welded to the floor where the mounting points are. I then have the mounting points bolted to these plates. Makes a bolt in cage NHRA legal with the large plates on bottom but double check to make sure.
