M.I.S.S.I.N.G P.A.R.T of my suspension!
I currently drive a 1987 NA Rx7.
I recently put on some new suspension (Tokico Blue Struts with Tein Springs) I realized I had some camber issues so I decided to pick up this set of Camber Plates off ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PillowBall-Camber-Kit-Plates-86-91-Mazda-RX7-FC3S-Turbo-Non-Turbo-/380506924520?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ARX-7&hash=item5897fae5e8&vxp=mtr What I was just informed though is my real question. The link to the camber plates above are only the upper mounts. Apparently there is a "spacer" I have to run between the upper mount and the top hat of the springs or else it won't fit correctly. I believe I found the part (its called a upper seat?), but I am not to sure. http://www.andysautosport.com/mazda/..._mounts/cusco/ Does anyone have any information or links I can read about to learn more about it? Or does anyone have a link on where I might be able to purchase one? Thanks in advance! |
All you need is a big washer and the upper strut bearing from an MX6/626. The washer needs an ID exactly that of the threaded part of the strut, and as big an OD as you can get. In a pinch you can Drexel out a big fender washer from Home Depot. I also put another smaller washer above that one to make it stronger.
It goes upper spring hat >> strut bearing >> washer >> lower bearing spacer from camber plates >> bearing from plates >> top nut from plates. I think I have pics of my old setup at home. PM me if I don't make it back to the thread. |

I was actually able to find the part that I was looking for; however, Cusco said they won't be getting their shipment of these till their next container which will take weeks... I am unsure of other brands who make these. I believe racing beat might make them. But if you have pictures of your set up, that would be great... I could save some money there instead of paying 20 bucks to have it shipped from Japan... |
