looking at somenew wheels but don't want to go 18's? need some input

Hey I am shopping around for some new wheels and I only want to go 1 size up 17's, but all the rims I see is 17x7 or 17x7.5 I only saw couple that came 17x8 but it's kinda ugly. Now my question can I put 17x7 or 17x7.5 on my 93 rx7? Also I do know that the stock is 16x8 but I am sure if that makes a big difference? Thanks alot, khris

whatchu talkin about willis???? Theres a ton of wheels you can choose from that are 17x8 or wider. Another thing to consider is the weight. The stock rims are very light. In order to get 17x8 rims that are not much heavier you might have to spend a little more. I personally like Volks and SSR. Their wheels are generally light and you can order them in 17x8 or wider. Between those two brands alone, you have a choice of at least 20 or 30 styles.

You shouldn't go with wheels that are narrower than the stock 16x8" wheels. You'll actually be decreasing the contact patch of rubber and making your car handle worse.

Wider is better. Go 17x8 f & 17 x 9 or 10" r. It's tough to find wheel retailers that stock rims wider than 7-8". That's because they are catering to the honda market.
