Line Lock

I need a line lock.

SummitRacing.com has an assortment, the most likely candidate is the B&M launch control line lock, but the installation kits I find are only suited for SAE-based vehicles. Does anyone use a line-lock? Which line lock did you use? What fittings did you need?

/BTW: Vehicle is an '85 GSL-SE

Depends what tire you use and if you need to heat the tires up to hook...... I use a 26X11.5 tire and don't use a line lock. I do a rolling burnout through the box. That's enough for me to cut 1.5XX short times.

I use a line lock. Just get the standard kit it worked fine with my FD fittings.

Make sure if you have ABS that you pull the fuse before using it though

I'm running ET Streets at about 12 PSI tire pressure. I'm cutting 1.8 60ft with small, rolling burnouts. I know for a fact I can get 1.6 60's with these tires, but they've got to be HOT.

I'm in need of a line lock for a couple reasons. I seem to have trouble doing rolling burnouts, no matter what I do. Using the old "dump-it and hold-the-brake" method, my rear-brakes are slowing down the rear-wheels enough to where the car still wants to move forward. So much so, I lose traction on the front wheels and actually push the car with the front wheels locked up. It's kinda scary, and I almost hit the starter-pit last time. I tried just giving it more throttle, and pushing it to redline but all that managed to do was blow an LSD apart. I think the brakes were holding one wheel while the other turned, which destroyed the inner-workings.

Here's a video of both of the aforementioned runs. Notice the front tires are locked during the first rolling burnout (you can hear them screeching). On the second, I pushed it to 7000rpm to get the tires as hot as I could. I believe it actually broke while I was doing the burnout.

/BTW, Saw your car at the revolution. Looks wicked!

By rolling I mean, I don't hold my brake. I stop one foot past the water box. Rev up to 8k, dump the clutch, floor it and burn the tires until they hook up which is usually right past the tree.
