leaning TII
I just bought a TII I never really noticed it right away but now I do. The car leans or sags more on one side than the other. Does anyone one know why this would be? It is noticable I would say at least 2-3 in difference on one side than the other. I notice a big gap on the pass side between the tire and fender. What do I need to do to fix this? Any ideas?

Sounds like the springs on one side gave out before the other. Which seems odd. Does it look like someone's been in there? Maybe one side has newer springs or the previous owner was extremely heavy.
You can get a nice set of aftermarket performance springs, like Eibach or ?, for 2-300 bucks. If you plan on doing big things with your suspension, it would be a good time to look at a whole coilover setup or a set of adjustable dampers to go with the springs. Don't forget that you'll need an alignment after you're all done. :) |
after i did brand new eibach springs and tokico struts mine still sagged to the drivers side, i could post a picture for proof....

Ya send me a pic to usmcjsy@msn.com. I am looking at new suspension but I guess I would like to know that would fix the problem for sure. Like I said I bought it used from a guy that looked like he messed with a lot of stuff and did not know what he was doing. Any other ideas or anyone else had this problem let me know. Thanks

if you are getting springs and try to fix the problem don't get the eibach pro kit, it stinks cause that what I'm using right not it bounce too much in the back, and yes I have new shock.
|
I like my Eibach pro-kit springs. I have heard that some people don't like the stiffer rates of the TII version though.

the racing beat springs are alot nicer....and usmcjsy, if you want me to mail the pic, PM me with your email address.

So you guys think I just need new springs? Or what?
|
If you think the springs on there came from the same batch(same age, same springs), then I would look for something loose or bent to explain it. They should sag evenly.
|
you definitely need new springs leaning or not....stock springs blow...but eibach actually rais your car from the stiffer rate, i prefer the racing beat, just my $.02

So has anyone fixed there leaning problem with new suspension? I just bought the car and it needs a motor but I do not want to go through the trouble of putting a new motor in if the frame is bent. I think I may buy all new suspension and put in it. What do you guys think? One of my friends said that if the car had been in a accident and got hit so hard it bent the frame so that the car sat lopsisded the insurance would have totaled it out. That makes sense to me but there are some crooked people out there who fix things cheap and re sell it.
