Kumho Ecsta V710

Does anyone have any track experience with this tire? How does it compare to the Hoosier R6?

The fastest tire is the V710, the R6 is a harder tire made for larger tracks. the 'A' compound would be closer to the 710.

they are all so close, just get whats in your size and cheaper. Don't forget that the BFG R-1 is back too.

silver7 - when you say track, do you mean for a 20 minute session on a road course like pocono? if so, after about 10-15 minutes, the v710's will start getting greasy but the r6 will be more consistent because it should last the whole session fine. the v710 should get a faster time up until that point because they are stickier.
for autocross, the a6 is faster than the v710 but probably lasts half as long.

I'm looking for a good tire setup for actual tracks such as road Atlanta or Barber Motor Speedway. I plan on running these on stock FD rims unless anyone tells me otherwise. Suggestions?

2mchpwr- I have been using VictoRacers for the past two years and I am just not happy with them. I am leaning towards Hoosier R6. I need something that can last for a 20-25 minute session. From the responses the V710 is an autocross tire.

PS: Are you the guy who bought the V8 FD with the JRZs?

yep:)

the 710s are awesome if you dont overheat them from excessive sliding and such. i was getting lots of air gain with them so i was going out on 28 to 29psi and they seemed to last for twenty minutes just fine. actually seemed to be really fast first couple of laps then fell off a few tenthes mid session and then they always came back in and went faster than beginning laps.
