Konis and stock springs, how low can I go?
I'm about to install a set of Koni Yellows on my completely stock R1; I autocross the car so I wonder which spring perch notch I can use and still not rub with the stock springs, wheels, and tires. I'm not going to be changing the springs, as I can't in Super Stock class, but I will be going to 245/45/16s soon; will I need to use the top perch locater - which I understand is equal to the stock ride height of the R1 shocks - or can I drop it any at all?

From what I've seen and heard, you will need to keep the fronts at the highest setting. You will be ok using the middle or lowest setting for the rears.

I have done exactly what rynberg says; he's right. Anything lower than stock on the front with the stock springs and you'll have trouble. You can do whatever you want with the rear.

thanks for the advise, I'll use the top for the front, but if Iuse the middle for the rear will I have a noticeble "dragon wagon" rake? (The rearend lower than the front.)

I have them set at the top perch mount on both front and rear. In retrospect, I wish I had dropped to the middle setting on the rears. It doesn't handle much differently or look bad .... I just don't like how you can see the yellow twintube from a distance.
