kei office coilovers (here we go again)
 

Yes these things are still being asked about lol
I acquired this set of coilovers i know they are kei office but dont know the model. 3 are leaking so has anyone found a place that rebuilds them, my local hydraulic shop said they would take a crack at them , just checking my options before i commit.

Those are junk man, sorry.

What makes them junk? Is it the condition, or the brand or model. I know they closed shop years ago then re opened as dg5. Im just asking because i dont know so someone educate me.

It's just the condition of them. If you got them taken apart without completely destroying them, there is very little chance that you could get all of that corrosion off and return them to working condition. They are just totally fuxored man. The insides are probably filled with rusty water and I wouldn't be surprised if they are just complete seized. The top hats are rusted and at the very least you need to change the spherical bearings in them, but with all the work to restore the top hats you might as well buy new ones. The springs need to be replaced, $60 a piece. Just to rebuild them, if they weren't fuxored, would be $200 per shock or so but even if you could get them apart and the pistons weren't totally fucked, I bet you need new shock bodies. The weather dries up the seals and lets water in.

I understand now, thanks. I have a friend who works at a hydraulic shop he has them now and is taking a look at them, hes had them roughly a week and has not called i may call him and tell him not to worry about it then.
