JIC's installed... I have a new car!!!

Well, after running on Tokicos and Eibachs for the last few years I finally made the switch to coilovers and opted for the JIC's. I have one thing to say.... Who glued my car to the ground?!!! What a difference!:)
Used to be when I would go over a dip at high speeds, my car would lift up, then go down, now my car just hugs the ground like I have giant magnets in my car. Not only does it handle better but my CD's don't skip anymore! Its firmer but not as harsh at the same time... if that makes sense.
Anyway, just wanted to post my impressions and say thanks Rishie!;)

lol he's going to wait a couple days for the suspense to build up and then replay;)

ARD T2 03-01-03 09:20 PM

lol. Thanks for the review. I'm very glad the install went smoothly. Man that sucks about the hood. how did that happen?

Peace, rishie

They retail for about $1850.00 I believe. There was a marginally increase in pricing on JIC due to the fluctuating yen value, but they should be right about there.

Rated R1 03-02-03 07:46 AM

I have no clue about the hood. It is a very minor dent it's just the fact that it is sitting right in front of me evertime I am in the car. I think JIC needs to shorten the adjustment knob to keep this from happening.

I love my JIC's too...

Mine made a small rub in the hood liner but no dents so far.

ARD T2 03-02-03 02:41 PM

huh interesting. I will look at some of our FD's and relay the info accordingly. Thanks for the notice.

can the knobs be removed when not being used like on the Koni shocks?

Rated R1 03-04-03 07:58 AM

No, I do not think so.

reza 03-22-03 10:43 AM

is there any update on the dented hood problem?
what was the cause?

jpandes 03-23-03 06:01 PM

Wow, you got that big of an improvement over Tokiko's & Eibach's....I've had T & E's for 5 years. Maybe it's time to upgrade!

reza 03-23-03 11:39 PM

improvements?

the dented hood problem is from the adjustment peice that sticks into the engine bay becuase it sits on top of the strut towers. Right? I'd suggest putting a peice of cotton on top of the thing to dampen the effects of jolts where it slightly smacks the hood. If that will work. Also, which JICs are they? I'm looking into retailing them.

:withstupi ... huh? lol What does that have to do with anything??

What are people's opinions on the Tein coilovers vs. JIC's?

For what purposes are you doing the comparison? Meaning street, track, both, track only, etc... What models are you attempting to compare??

Bang for buck here's my choices:

If entry level I would take the Tein Flex, step up would be JIC FLT-A2, then i'd take Zeal B6 coilovers, then Zeal S6 aluminum casing/Tein RE, Then some N1 dampers. Apex-i and so on. Going from comfort to track. From twin tube to monotube this is where I see the values.

Anything above that to me would have to be an Ohlins, Penske setup.

I really like the Endless product. So that is a toss up, the RE or S6. Both are not recommended for street. I like the fact that endless is beginning to make a presence here and I'm all for supporting their incredible products. I mean their pads must be reveared as the best in the world. So I can imagine the suspension. A friend will be putting the B6 on his IS300. Can't wait.

JIC A2s from Rishie...beautiful looking/operating equipment! Rides very nice with my gunmetal Volk GTCs (18")...and no hood problems!
